Roaming the backend of the Millard North defense is three-star S Araf Evans Jr, who looks to cap off a great prep career with a strong senior campaign. Evans was highly active last season and leads returning Mustang defenders with 72 tackles and five TFLs. Araf is a versatile safety who is effective in both run defense and pass coverage. One thing that stands out immediately about Araf's game is his ability to close on the ball, as he displayed his range with his ability to fly downhill to make stops at/near the LOS, and can cover a good chunk of the field. He processes the game quickly and accurately, which usually helps put him in a great position to make a play. Evans' physicality was also impressive, showing no hesitation in stepping into the box to make a play on the RB. He will challenge receivers at the catch point and can track the ball well to know when exactly to get his hands up to defend the pass. Araf holds several D1 offers, including Eastern Michigan, Northern Iowa, Penn State, and Texas A&M, while also drawing interest from many Power 4 teams. Definitely an interesting recruitment to keep following!

Omaha North's [player_tooltip player_id='487609' first='BJ' last='Louis'] is a player who is surprisingly flying under the radar despite flashing elite upside and posting solid production. Louis ended his junior season with 52 tackles, seven TFLs, three sacks, and an interception. The first thing that stands out about Louis' tape is his versatility as a player with the first three plays being: 1) him lined up with his hand in the dirt (TFL), 2) him dropping into coverage (tackled receiver for TFL), and 3) him rushing off the EDGE as a stand up OLB (sack). He plays with a very quick first step and is relentless in his pursuit of the ball. BJ also proved to be a great tackler, using great technique and power to ensure he made the stop. Although BJ plays the game fast, he still does a good job reading his keys and diagnosing where the play is going, hardly playing himself out of position. Good use of hands, solid bend, loose hips, and great closing speed. Iowa Central is the first school to jump on board with an offer. Even with everything BJ has shown us, I still think he's just scratching the surface... jump on the bandwagon ASAP!

The Gering Bulldogs experienced a tremendous turnaround last season, improving from 2 wins to a 6-win season that secured a playoff berth. A big reason for that was the play of QB [player_tooltip player_id='1114608' first='Rece' last='Knight'], who proved to be effective through the air and on the ground, finishing his junior campaign with 1,226 passing yards, 462 rushing yards, 16 passing touchdowns, and five rushing touchdowns. Rece is a great athlete with the ball in his hands, displaying top-tier elusiveness in the pocket, and he can make defenders miss in the open field. His vision allows him to smoothly escape pressure and step up into the pocket or spill outside to extend the play with his legs. Knight does a good job moving through his progressions in order to find the open man and can get the ball out quickly when he finds his target. Tough runner who can absorb contact while maintaining his balance to keep fighting for additional yardage. Under the radar prospect to start monitoring!

Although the Papio South Titans will be rolling out a new starting QB this fall, it will be comforting to know they will have their leading receiver from last season back for his senior year. [player_tooltip player_id='487796' first='Elon' last='Washington'] broke out in the Titans' offense last season, quickly becoming the top target and ending the year with 56 receptions, 622 receiving yards, and nine receiving touchdowns. Elon is a player who we see projecting well as a slot receiver, where he can utilize his elite twitch and route-running skills to torch defenders at all levels of the field. He recognizes coverages very well and knows how to attack weaknesses in the defense, while also showing he can create separation from defenders when facing man coverage. Very strong hands— not many balls are hitting the turf when you throw Elon's way. Washington's crisp route running has also always stood out in his game, displaying sudden bursts, great stop/start ability, and explosiveness coming out of his breaks. Don't miss out!

Ord is always good for a tough interior offensive/defensive lineman and next season [player_tooltip player_id='1113981' first='Colt' last='Meyer'] looks to be the next man up. Colt had a solid season in the trenches during his junior year with 55 tackles and six TFLs, while proving to be a handful for opposing offensive linemen. Colt plays on both sides of the line, but really impressed me on tape with his defensive skillset. He displayed versatility with the potential to play anywhere from the 1 to 4 techniques. Meyer isn't the biggest guy on the line, but he does play with solid power when firing off the ball and does a great job winning the leverage battle over his opponents. Meyer defends the run very well, using his excellent ability to track and flow to the ball when in pursuit. Big year coming for Colt and the Chanticleers!
