DE/EDGE
Maverick Noonan, 6’4″ 225 lbs – Elkhorn South
Maverick Noonan is really starting to make a name for himself on the recruiting trail, racking up a lengthy list of offers Nebraska, Mizzou, Iowa State, and Michigan State among many other offers. He is an impressive athlete with an explosive first step and a vast arsenal of pass rush moves. Noonan is very crafty with his footwork and hand placement, able to shake off tackles with ease. With his long, athletic build, he can get insane bend around the edge and cause trouble in the backfield. Noonan’s busy summer circuit means he’s only perfecting his craft even more… OTs be ready!!
QB
Zane Flores, 6’3″ 190 lbs – Gretna
One of the more exciting prospects in the class of ’23 is the Gretna gunslinger. Zane Flores really burst onto the scene last season when he threw for 1,926 yards and scored a total of 26 touchdowns. One of the parts of his game that really stands out is how Flores exudes poise and confidence in the pocket and when he rolls out. He was a polished thrower as a sophomore, a summer full of camps will only help him further refine his skills. Flores throws a good-looking spiral with great zip on it and can deliver to all levels of the field. Definitely going to be boosting his stock during year 3!
TE
Benjamin Brahmer, 6’6″ 195 lbs – Pierce
Huskers commit Ben Brahmer is a player that will soon make Husker fans very happy. The 6’6″ pass-catcher has an insane catch radius with long arms and great leaping ability. He is a do-it-all threat that can play the tight end position and he can be put on the outside to attack deep. Brahmer does a great job using his length and physicality to attack contested balls. Before Brahmer suits up in Husker red, he will still have two more seasons to terrorize high school defenses.
OL
Gunnar Gottula, 6’6″ 270 lbs – Lincoln Southeast
In what is shaping up to be a deep 2023 class in Nebraska, Gunnar Gottula looks to be one of the top prospects. As a result, this has lead to a lot of attention for Gottula, who like Brahmer, has also committed to the Huskers’ 2023 class. He is a bookend tackle that brings a fierce mauler mentality to the trenches for Lincoln Southeast. He consistently wins his reps with his super mean punch and violent blocks. The big man is also very nimble on his feet,t displaying great lateral movement and moving up to lead block. In only his sophomore year Gottula showed he can be an elite tackle prospect, but it seems he is only beginning to scratch the surface.
