We updated our 22’ Rankings adding new athletes, re-organizing the rankings based on player’s summer camp circuit performances, and updated offers. Here are some of the new additions that have made a jump into the rankings. Without further ado, let’s dive into it.
[player_tooltip player_id="166568" first="Christopher" last="Stinson"] TE West Aurora Twitter Highlights Mr. Stinson is from West Aurora, he currently holds no offers and has gone to various camps this summer to get his name out there. What I like most about this young man is his ability to make contested catches for the 50/50 ball with the defender draped all over him on a consistent basis. His 4.63 40 speed is evident via his film with how quick he is off the line of scrimmage. This young man is flying under the radar and is a steal for anyone that picks him up at the next level. If your school is looking for a receiving tight end that will go up and get the ball go take a look at this young man's highlight tape. [player_tooltip player_id="165470" first="Sean" last="Cruz"] QB Evanston Twitter Highlights Mr. Cruz is from Evanston, he currently holds two offers from McKendree University and Roosevelt University. This young man is also a Prep Redzone Camp Standout where he ran a 4.56 40-yard dash, when you look on film his speed definitely shows when he pulls the ball down to scramble as he blows by the 2nd level of defenders. What I like the most about this young man is his ability to get the ball off under pressure on the money into his receiver's hands downfield. He can also put zip on the ball getting it out quickly when running quick hitter type of plays, all of which cause problems for opposing defenses. If your school is looking for a dual-threat QB go take a look at this young man's film above. [player_tooltip player_id="162711" first="Kameron" last="Lewis"] DB Palatine Twitter Highlights Mr. Lewis is from Palatine, he currently holds no offers and has gone to various camps this summer to get his name out there. This young man has the closing speed to cover sideline to sideline where he's able to make the tackle as well as undercut the route for an interception. What I like most about this young man is his aggressiveness when he attacks downhill to make the open field tackle which is seen time and time again on his highlight tape from this past spring season. He's a young man you need to keep an eye on during this fall season, if you're a school that's looking for a DB that can fill holes in run support and make plays on the ball go check out his highlights above. [player_tooltip player_id="165475" first="Tye" last="Niekamp"] LB Normal Community Twitter Highlights Mr. Niekamp is from Normal Community, he currently holds one offer from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and I expect his stock to rise after getting a full fall season under his belt. What I like most about this young man is his ability to fill holes in run support quickly, once he diagnoses the run he plants his foot into the ground and attacks the ball carrier. This young man takes on blocks head-on blowing up plays in the process, which is a sight to see. He has great size standing at 6'4 220 and moves well for his size as well, if your program is looking for a bigger linebacker that's a run stopper go check out this young man's highlight tape above. [player_tooltip player_id="20904" first="Paolo" last="Gennarelli"] OL St Charles North Twitter Highlights Mr. Gennarelli is from St Charles North, he has a handful of offers ranging from Fordham University to The University of Wyoming among others. What I like most about this young man is the pure tenacity and aggressiveness that he shows in both offensive attacks. He fires off the ball getting hands-on quickly, once he does this it's game over for the defender as this young man then throws the defender to the ground. This is seen in the run game where he washes the defensive line down and when he drive blocks. This is also seen during pass protection where he stays square and neutralized the defender by stopping him in his tracks resulting in a pancake. There's a reason why he has the handful of offers that he does, his film speaks for itself. If your school is looking for an offensive lineman that is aggressive and gets after it, go take a look at this young man's film above. [player_tooltip player_id="155231" first="Keylan" last="Sanders"] ATH Eisenhower Twitter Highlights Mr. Sanders is from Eisenhower, he currently holds no offers and went to the Northern Illinois University Camp in June to get his name out there. This young man is a sight to see on both sides of the ball as his athleticism is showcased on both. On offense, he makes contested catches with the defender draped all over him by high pointing the ball and was a one-man army during one of the early plays in his highlight tape where he not only hurdled a defender but also hit the following defender with a spin move before getting into the endzone. On defense, he has the closing speed to cover sideline to sideline and attacks downhill to make the open-field tackle. If your school is looking for a gamechanger on either side of the ball go take a look at this young man's film above to see if he's a fit for your program. [player_tooltip player_id="165474" first="Ernest" last="Temple"] LB TF South Twitter Highlights Mr. Templs is from TF South, he currently has no offers on the table and has gone to various camps to get his name out there. What I like most about this young man is his ability to get to his coverage drops quickly where he then reads/reacts to the QB resulting in interceptions by covering sideline to sideline. That's not all he can do, he fills holes in run support and uses his closing speed to make the tackle at the line of scrimmage. He got some attention during this past spring season being voted to the All-Area team and I look forward to seeing him compete this fall. If your school is looking for a balanced linebacker go take a look at this young man's film to see if he's a fit for your program. [player_tooltip player_id="165479" first="Brandon" last="Harry"] DL Crete Monee Twitter Highlights Mr. Harry is from Crete Monee, he currently holds no offers and has gone to a few prospect camps this summer to get his name out there. What I like most about this young man is his ability to get pressure on the QB with his pass rush. The first play on his highlight tape showcases just that as he has to beat not one but two offensive linemen before getting to the QB to bring him down for a sack. This is just a glimpse of the potential that this young man has as he still has room to hone his craft and develop further, I look forward to seeing how he produces this fall season. If your school is looking for a defensive end that has untapped potential, go take a look at his film above. [player_tooltip player_id="165463" first="Alonzo" last="Powe"] WR Eisenhower Twitter Highlights Mr. Powe is from Eisenhower, he currently holds no offers and gets it done on the basketball court as well. One word that comes to mind about this young man is explosive, his first play of his highlight tape emulates just that as he received a kickoff and made his way into the endzone after utilizing his change of direction topped with breaking arm tackles. His explosiveness also comes to light when he lines up in the slot where he's quick off the line of scrimmage and gets upfield quickly after securing the catch. He's the first of two Eisenhower young men that are new additions to the rankings, I look forward to seeing how he produces with a full fall season under his belt.
These are some of the young men that are new additions to the 22’ Rankings as they continue to get ready for the fall season to start. They are all names to keep an eye on as they have the skillset to play at the next level and it will be fun to see how they produce with a full season under their belts. Be sure to follow @jamaskane regarding news & information for Illinois High School Football, @PrepRedzoneIL, and @PrepRedzone.
