Wisconsin high school football relies so heavily on the run game. In big part because of the tradition of developing outstanding offensive line talent. Behind those big fellas are also some very impressive, developed, and talented running backs. Most seasons are led statistically by seniors, opening the door every year for new names to take the top spots in each category. However, we see plenty of juniors and even underclassmen every few years find themselves near the top of those categories. Today we look back at the top producing non-senior RBs from 2024 so we have an idea of who to keep an eye on this fall. These kids are monsters on the ground, and fit their role perfectly which leads to these numbers. So strap in and get ready for big years from these kids! Let's dive in!

2024 Stats: 1,817 Yards, 29 TDs

The junior RB/ATH/QB out of Badger has been all over the backfield of the option offense. As a sophomore he helped win a D2 State Championship as one of the wings, using his speed to win out in space as he stretched the defense horizontally. In 2024 he took over at QB where he showed off great decision making while still highlighting his outstanding playmaker abilities as a runner. His speed, vision, and agility led to him piling up 1,800+ yards and the spot as the most productive rusher returning in 2025. The versatile athlete is one of the top ball carriers in the state and needs a ton more eyes on him this offseason. Dive into his highlights below. Don't miss out!

2024 Stats: 1,774 Yards, 31 TDs

Brody being apart of this article highlights how much of a mismatch and dominant force he is on the offensive side of the ball. Brody is committed to Iowa as a WR, mans the QB position for the Winneconne offense, and still managed to be the 2nd most productive rusher returning to the HS field in 2025. It speaks to his physical tools. Speed to beat angles and get the edge. Agility to dominate vs one on one tacklers in space or making LBs miss in the hole. Vision to find or set up blocks and utilize cutback lanes. Brody is going to be a nightmare for defense's this fall. The third most productive RB returning to the field in 2025 is labeled as a FB on his Hudl account, suggesting he creates a majority of his yards between the tackles with physical running. That wouldn't be a surprise as Cruz doesn't shy away from physicality based on his 110 tackles as a defensive player as well. The junior RB put up an outstanding season with nearly 1500 yards and also was third in the state for rushing yards per game. The monster stat line came from Brown playing in just 7 games for an average of 213.1 yards/game. A number that would have had him well inside the Top 10 if he had gotten to double digit games. Turn on the highlights and you will see an electric ball carrier. He is an athlete that has a strong mix of long speed and quick twitch agility and elusiveness. A combination that makes him a nightmarish athlete to contain between the tackles or out in space. Look for Latayvious to continue to build on that junior season. Owen does really well dropping his pad level and getting underneath defenders, and using that leverage to push the pile and fall forward or completely break the tackle. Expectations will be to make a run at another one with some of his OL returning as well as his QB1, allowing them to continue their balanced attack that kept defenses honest. The junior RB has a very well balanced skill set to aid in his production. He is a patient runner with a 0 to 60 burst that led to a lot of his big plays as he picked through the front seven looking for green grass. Brady is an elusive runner who can jump cut or use a juke to set up a block or make a defender miss. Once he hits the open field Moon has that second gear he can hit to pull away with ease. The 5'10" 185 lbs back was for the challenge, finishing with just shy of 6 yds/carry, and 120+ yds/game. Aiden's vision sprung him for a ton of his yards and big plays throughout the season. He is not an athlete that is going to waste time laterally in the backfield. Instead we see Aiden be more of a one cut, get up the field when you see the hole, and then trust your athleticism to beat defenders type of RB. The junior averaged 6.2 yds/att in 2024 along with just shy of 121 yds/game. Ira also added 200 yards as a receiving threat in 2024. I'm interested in potentially seeing some film from him in the near future. He has the frame and he has the production. While those are impressive, it is his 195.7 yds/game average that has him in this article. That average is the 2nd highest among all returning ball carriers. That number is even more impressive when you watch his junior highlights. You will see that the RB/FB is asked to attack between the tackles, downhill, with force. Landin excels in those parts of the game, breaking tackles and punishing defenders. He is built to wear down a defense and did just that over his 6 games in 2024. I have high hopes for a monster senior season. Get on this kid early.
