With the end of the school year quickly approaching, the upcoming senior class isn't the only group of players drawing interest from recruiters. Quite a few prospects from the Class of ‘27 are being contacted by various programs at the collegiate level.

Class of ‘27 prospects, specifically from the Kansas City metro, are landing on the collegiate radar more and more ahead of this summer. This report will be taking a look at five of those KC area players. These five in particular haven't been highlighted enough. So, we'll not only give an update on their progress, but we'll also be breaking down their game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263895' first='Jordan' last='Lockett'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1341050' first='Jacob' last='Lockett'] - Blue Valley, ATH's

Most football fans are likely familiar with the Lockett family. It's safe to say their genes are strong, as they've produced some studs on the gridiron over the years. Next up for the family are twin brothers Jordan and Jacob of Blue Valley. Both brothers boast an athletic frame and are capable of playing receiver or lining up in the secondary. They're sure to put on a show during camp season, and they have the potential to be breakout players for the Tigers in the fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='934065' first='Angelo' last='Engler'] - Blue Valley NW, 6'2”, 300, OL

So far it appears the offensive line has a case to be considered the strongest position group for the Class of ‘27. The group already consists of a few high-level recruits, and Engler is a prospect determined to be amongst those players. After reviewing his film from 2024, it's clear he is one of the best guards in this class. Some coaches at the next level can see the talent as well, which is why he's been invited to compete at a number of camps. With a fully healthy season this fall, Engler could make a push for the Top 10 in our rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='1003299' first='Caelum' last='Theno'] - Basehor-Linwood, 6'0”, 185, ATH

This next prospect arguably wears the most hats out of the group. Theno's athleticism and versatility helped him see the varsity field quite often in 2024. During his sophomore season he contributed as a pass catcher, running back, and as a special teamer. He's also a standout swimmer for Basehor. The possibilities are endless for this young man, and his role is sure to grow during his junior year. Look for him to be a key player for the Bobcats.

[player_tooltip player_id='1657876' first='Anthony' last='Harris III'] - Olathe South, 6'3”, 175, Unranked

Closing out this report is an unranked wideout that's ready to grab some attention this summer and fall. Harris III was quietly Olathe South's top receiver in 2024, as he led the Falcons in every receiving category with 29 catches for 407 yards and two scores. To go along with his wide catch radius, he also possesses a strong pair of hands and has the physicality to get yards after the catch. His role should transition from a possession receiver to more of a vertical threat during his junior campaign. Keep an eye out for him over the summer.

With the end of the school year quickly approaching, the upcoming senior class isn't the only group of players drawing interest from recruiters. Quite a few prospects from the Class of ‘27 are being contacted by various programs at the collegiate level.
