There is a subtle-yet-distinct difference between what I would consider a powerful runner and a violent runner... [player_tooltip player_id='1597927' first='Derek' last='Burgess Jr']., was one of the more violent runners in attendance that I got an opportunity to see. Burgess ran like someone had slapped his mama - with purpose, furry, and refusing to be denied. Burgess' running style also profiles as one where he is, by proxy, slippery. There were a lot of limbs moving and working when he toted the rock... Opposing his running style was Will Adams, a more powerful runner. Adams was a bit more efficient in his movement, being more compact and straight ahead. Furthermore, Adams got to top speed really quickly, had a forward lean, and appeared to generate burst by driving his forward momentum through the ground. This running style seemed to compliment his ticker frame.

The MVP at running back for the day was [player_tooltip player_id='1524876' first='A'Shaad' last='Carter'] - and it was a no-brainer. Carter was a slippery, elusive back that made multiple defenders miss in a phone booth. Something I believe you cannot coach or teach, instincts, is inherent to Carter's game. He has the uncanny knack to get defenders to over-pursue only to cut back and slip across the grain. Lastly, we saw that Carter had a great deal of balance along the sideline and was also able to come to balance after making a dramatic cut in space.
