Our Winter rankings update pinpointed even more players from the 2026, 2027 and 2028 classes who have stood out in their respective positions. For a variety of reasons, our team decided that each of those new additions were worthy of a coveted spot in our rankings.   But we'd be naive to think we've evaluated everyone or didn't miss a few along the way.    The changing of the guard happens year after year, and, as such, PRZ South Carolina is constantly looking at as many of the 10,000-plus prep football players in the SCHSL and SCISA ranks as possible.   Now, the Community Film Room is back.   In each edition, we'll break down five unranked players from across the state to let you see what we're seeing. The series will lead right into the the start of the spring rankings cycle, the ever-growing importance of the summer program schedules and then the 2025 season.   In Episode 65, we're taking at a pair of defensive backs, a two-way lineman, a big quarterback and a tight end encouraging his team to throw his way more.    Johnson went from sub-varsity star to budding varsity standout in a matter of months. And in his first year on the Yellow Jackets' top squad, he put up 226 rushing yards and a pair of scores while flashing something different as the team's seldom-used but oft-dangerous receiving threat - both out a wing.    The three passes he caught equated to two touchdowns and 117 total yards. Likewise, Johnson wasn't the guy on defense, but the version of him that played corner put up 17 tackles, three pass break-ups and a tackle for loss. How his future plays out is unclear; what's crystal is that he's already given TL Hanna plenty of options.      Even if Louallen were to keep his production numbers where they were as a sophomore, he'd still lead the Eagles to a bunch of wins over the next two years. After all, he threw for 1,400 yards (10 touchdowns) and rushed for another 500 (six touchdowns). Thing is, we see much bigger things from Louallen than his own status quo.    He's big enough at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds to dump truck unprepared defenders when he runs and his advancement in reading defenses was evident in the back half of the year, save for a rough interception-laden night against Fairfield Central. It was a rare off night, which for Louallen could mean something different in 2025.       For all the talk about Loris' edge rushers and defensive ends, Wilson makes a strong case for the Lions finding much of their success from the inside out. And, in fact, he's stating his case on both sides of the line. In addition to his 43 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, a pass break-up and a blocked punt, he served as a stabilizing force at center.   With an 80-plus inch wing span, he's able to get the snap off quickly and then engage his blocks. As such, quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='797160' first='Moon' last='Gerald'] almost never faced pressure up the middle. Defensively, he and fellow tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1395062' first='Demarea' last='Thurmond'] have shown they can collectively take over in the trenches.      As Davis continues to add more weight, he's able to be even more physical, especially given that he's already 5-foot-11 and fast enough to keep up with most receivers. He started the year as a reserve but was starting by the end of the Vikings' playoff run.   That, in turn, should help his confidence moving forward. Spartanburg is going to ask even more of him as a senior, and his ability to know he can hang when he's all by himself on the island should help the Vikings' make up for some significant losses at linebacker and elsewhere in the secondary.      Any tight end playing in the current James Island scheme is going to be asked to block more than anything else. And Crumpton long since learned to handle that component. He can go one-on-one at the line and pull (check out the 1:15 mark for a good display of that).    Yet, Crumpton big frame and mobility also lets him cut up the seam when asked, something we see paying off for him more as time progresses. He caught nine passes for 163 yards and three touchdowns during his sophomore season. Three of those receptions went for at least 25 yards. Pair that with him as a big end zone target, and his catch tally should continue to increase.
