Our new K1 in the 2027 North Dakota class is from 2025 state champions Fargo Davies, as Colby Nelson Colby Nelson 5'10" | 165 lbs | K Fargo Davies | 2027 State ND takes over the top spot. He made a 44-yard field goal against the wind during the regular season and did so like it was clockwork from a length perspective as surely he looked like he could hit from 50 yards from the angle I had on tape. There’s also no doubt that Colby has the best hangtime I have seen yet in the Dakotas overall, as his kicks get up with authority. Surely one of the best specialist prospects out there in either of the Dakotas in my eyes in this class.

It was during the 11AAA state championship game that I realized then that I have found our number #1 kicker in this 2027 North Dakota class. Colby shows off a long and efficient kicking leg and checked the second box with his well-noted hangtime on his kickoffs. There wasn’t ample opportunities to watch many field goals, however we saw quick extra points that persistently showed off a great finish with his kicking leg and in my eyes the ball elevated very quickly with that excellent hangtime. Colby looks like a young man that really hits on attention to detail and was a touchback machine in the 2024 season in what I could find tape wise.

I got to watch Colby in the 11AAA state championship game and I realized then that I have found our number #1 kicker in the class. Colby shows off a very long kickoff leg and sold me too with his hangtime on his kicks. Even though we didn’t get many opportunities to watch many field goals, we saw extra points that consistently showed off a strong finish with his kicking leg and in my eyes the ball elevated very quickly with his hangtime. Colby looks like a young man that really relishes attention to detail and is a touchback machine in the tape I have watched all year.
