The class of 2023 has an abundance of skilled players that fall into the athlete category. These guys rarely come off the field for four quarters by playing offense, defense, and special teams. Here are some of the top skilled athletes who will be juniors this fall.

Carter is best known as a physical football player that really unloads on ball carriers and receivers when he’s playing safety or outside linebacker. He closes quickly on the football and takes pride in delivering a jaw dropping tackle. As a running back, Carter is an explosive runner who bounces the ball out or cuts the ball back against the flow without slowing down.

Cam might be the most versatile athlete in the 2023 class. He is an excellent cover 2 halves safety, who breaks on deep passes instantly from the hash and reacts just as quickly to come up on run support. As a wideout, Smith can turn a short reception into a big play with his breakaway speed. He also excels as a kickoff return specialist and can even play wildcat quarterback when called upon.

Besides being an exceptional skilled athlete, Jackson is a physical football player who makes punishing tackles when playing linebacker and can drag defenders with him when carrying the football. He possesses the great combination of size and speed to go along with his football instincts. As a quarterback, Jackson can also run the read option as good as anyone.

As an outside linebacker, Bebie is equally effective playing off the edge or bumped out to cover a slot receiver. He is a quick reactor to the pass, excellent tackler in space, and will not be denied getting to the quarterback when on the blitz. Bebie is an explosive running back and return specialist on both punts and kickoffs. He is a consistent big play maker at all positions.

Hammer is a stout strong safety despite his size. He isn’t afraid to give up his body when closing on run support to make the play on the ball carrier. Talented enough to play man coverage, cover 2, or cover 3 pass defense, Hammer is always around the football by the time the whistle blows. He also excels as a slot receiver who runs precise routes and displays sure hands.
