Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Recent Offers: Cal, Colorado State
Notes: Cal came in and offered earlier this month and Howard should be a big time priority for the Norcal region Golden Bears. He is a national recruit with a exceptional arm and athletic abilities while able to navigate the pocket and throw on the run with a quick release and good throwing mechanics. Howard has racked up 21 offers so far and should see others enter into the mix as well.

Howard is a big guy and had the best arm strength of any of the underclassmen I watched closely. His release is quick with kind of a whip of a throwing motion and the ball gets to his target in a hurry. He is better when his feet are set than when he is off-platform, but the velocity is always there.

Dynamic dual-threat QB who climbed to #7 overall in the rankings highlighting his upward trend with his playmaking ability and physical tools. At 6’2” 200 lbs. he brings a strong, well-built frame that holds up in the pocket and as a ball carrier. He flashes smooth arm action with a quick, over the top release, allowing him to get the ball out efficiently and drive throws to all areas of the field. Great ability to escape, he feels pressure, avoids the rush with poise, resets his feet, and delivers accurate strikes on the moves. His blend of arm talent, mobility, and natural playmaking ability make him a modern offensive weapon with continued upside. 15 offers.

Recent Offers: UCLA, Washington
Notes: Already a national recruit and elite passer with a live arm and outstanding mechanics and ball placement, Howard has picked up two more P4 offers and should be a 20+ offer guy by the time it’s all said and done. In 2025 he threw for 2,200+ yards and 32 touchdowns while rushing for another 5 touchdowns on the year and is one of the top ’28 signal callers in the country.

Howard who is one of the top passers in the 2028 class on the west coast has been on a tear so far this year for Clovis West and has really seen his recruitment pickup in recent months. He currently holds offers from the likes of Miami, ASU, Arizona, Fresno State, Oregon, Utah, SDSU among others and has elite mechanics and arm strength for his age and his recruiting should really explode this off-season once schools come on campus and see him throw/workout. He had another big showing on Friday night, throwing for nearly 250 yards and 2 scores and showing his dynamic playmaking abilities both through the air and with his legs. Look Howard to have a big post-season showing as well for this loaded Clovis West team as they should make plenty of noise.

Howard who is one of the top ’28 signal callers across the country, has seemed to pickup right where he left his freshman year campaign at last year. He has some of the most impressive throwing mechanics and arm strength we have seen in any sophomore quarterback on the west coast and has proven through the first few weeks of play why he is already a national recruit. Last week he threw for 5 touchdowns in a throttling of Liberty-Bakersfield and has totaled 300+ yards through the first two weeks with 7 total touchdowns and has Clovis West at 1-1 heading into week 3 after a tough loss to Edison-Huntington Beach in week 1.

Howard is the top passer across the central valley and checks into this update as a top 5 quarterback in the state and is a very athletic pocket passer that can buy time with his legs and deliver on the run if needed. He has a quick and snappy release, shows good ball placement over the top and can zip it into tight windows across the middle or outside the hashes. Overall, he has very impressive throwing mechanics and can make off-platform throws while a smooth runner when needed as well. Howard has had a very busy off-season gathering offers from Arizona, ASU, BYU, Fresno State and Miami among others and should have another stellar 2025 campaign.

Howard was one of the top freshmen passers in the state last year with 2006 yards with 15 touchdowns.
He’s a natural playmaker who evades pressure well in the pocket and is always a threat to tuck it and run. Howard has plus arm strength and can deliver a rocket from the pocket or on the run. Miami offered Howard before his freshman season and he recently was offered by Oregon.

The freshman performed well throughout the 2024 season and lands as the top ranked 2028 prospect from the central valley and #25 overall. Possesses a well-developed frame with length at 6’2” 185 lbs. Excels at improvising and keeping plays alive with his legs. His ability to extend isn’t limited to tucking and running when protection breaks down but more about his ability to read the defense while moving and creating opportunities for his receivers to get open. Flashes plus instincts to avoid pressure by sliding left or right to sidestep defenders without gaining too much depth. Accelerated release allows him to get the ball out quickly and put velocity behind it. Doesn’t sacrifice arm strength or accuracy when throwing from off balance platforms. True dual-threat skillset that has the speed to make big plays as a ball carrier. First offered by Miami prior to playing a down of high school football and will earn many more going forward.
