AJ is a very explosive back that is an extremely fluid and smooth mover who changes directions effortlessly. Even though Johnson was one of the youngest prospects in this year’s camp, he showed exceptional athleticism that made an impression even in a crowded field. His best qualities are his lateral quickness and broad-jump explosion (8’0″–8’1″), which allow him to break long plays and create in confined spaces.

Johnson Jr. ran a 4.6 40 and showed elite agility, acceleration, and burst during the combine portion. His quick jump cuts and power between the tackles separate him from the pack when you turn on his film. With the tools of a future star and being a home run threat when he touches the football, expect Power 5 programs to start offering before the end of 2025. Johnson has 4–5 star upside and should get varsity touches as a freshman. Get to know him now.
