Expert Analysis
Corey Bailey | Prep Redzone Scout
Matthews is a dynamic back who combines downhill power with track-verified speed, making him a consistent big-play threat. He runs with urgency, getting north and south quickly before showing off the acceleration in the open field. A decisive runner, Matthews displays a sharp jump cut that allows him to redirect with fluidity, forcing defenders to hesitate in space. He runs with good pad level and generates yards after contact, showcasing both toughness between the tackles.
Through just three games this season, Matthews has produced 532 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns. His recruitment is beginning to reflect his potential, with eight offers already on the table, including multiple Ivy League programs, Morgan State, and Bucknell.

Matthews was definitely the heartbeat of the Linganore offense during their win. He gained yards after contact, displayed excellent vision, and gave out punishment to defenders trying to tackle him. I was impressed with his ability to press the hole inside and then bounce it outside. Matthews showed good patience and awareness. He scored two rushing touchdowns (3 and 18 yarders). He routinely turned small holes into highlight runs. Matthews’ dominance on the ground allowed Linganore to dictate tempo, sustain long drives, and open up the passing lanes.

Bradly Matthews: Explosive Playmaker with Game-Changing Speed
Bradly Matthews put together one of the most dominant seasons in the region in 2024, rushing for over 2,000 yards and finding the end zone an incredible 32 times. His production has translated into recruiting momentum, as the elusive back now holds eight offers, most recently adding Butler University to his list.
What jumps off the tape is Matthews’ ability to make defenders miss in tight spaces and then hit a second gear that separates him from the pack. He’s a true breakaway threat, capable of turning routine carries into long touchdowns with his burst and long speed. Matthews also showcases impressive toughness, consistently breaking tackles and fighting for extra yardage after contact.
With his rare combination of elusiveness, acceleration, and power through traffic, Matthews has the skill set to be a difference-maker at the next level. Following a monster junior campaign, expectations are sky-high heading into 2025, where he looks poised to continue his dominance and further raise his recruiting stock.

A player who I have been high on since back in early fall, Bradly continued to put on stand out performance at the NP Showcase. He had a great day of testing running a 4.5 40 and posting a 9’6 1/4″ SBJ. Bradly has excellent twitch and wiggle, able to change direction/angles quickly with no loss of speed. He has nimble feet, able to be on his toes while keeping great balance and burst out of cuts or through the hole. A weapon in the passing game as well he shows good hands and route running for a RB. Bradly already holds a handful of FCS offers and I expect many more colleges to be interested in him as a recruit this summer and into the fall.

Making his debut as #8 RB, Bradly had a huge junior year making 1st Team 3A All-State, being Frederick County’s OPOY and helping lead Linganore all the way to the state finals.
Bradly rushed for 2,490 yards on the season, 2,761 all purpose yards and 39 total TDs….that is up there with with the top performers in the state for the 2024 season. He Runs with great balance and drive does not go down easily. Bradly is a down hill one cut and go back. He hits the hole with nice burst and great vision. He’s got real oily hips and nimble/quick feet that allows him to make subtle moves that throws the defender off their angles, create himself space and set up lanes for him to run by defenders.
Bradly is a dynamic runner that currently only holds one offer from Georgetown but I expect many more to come his way this spring/summer. He gets it done on the field and off carrying a 4.2 GPA, he is a can’t miss player for FBS/FCS level programs.
