Burwell is highly instinctual and constantly puts himself near the ball to rack up stops against the run and pass. In coverage, Burwell can lock up WRs and also has the ball skills to track and pick off/break up passes all around the field. Burwell is just as good at defending the run, he’s terrific in pursuit and consistently flies downhill to deliver huge hits to the ball carrier, regardless of where he lined up pre-snap. I think what impressed me most about Burwell was his ability to create turnovers- he came up with a ton of forced fumbles and interceptions last season, consistently finding ways to flip possession and put his offense in great starting field position.

Burwell has had a productive offseason and has made a name for himself in the recruiting world- just this past week South Alabama reached out and sent an offer his way, and with his talent, there’s surely more to come.

Burwell is a dominant safety capable of creating turnovers, defending the run, and providing great coverage on the back end. Burwell is excellent at reading and reacting to plays- he sees the field really well and can quickly cover sideline to sideline to rack up interceptions and force fumbles. On offense, Burwell plays with the same speed and intensity at QB- consistently carving up defenses for big gains on the ground every time the ball is in his hands. Burwell made a ton of huge game-changing plays for Mae Jemison last fall- consistently finding ways to create turnovers/get into the endzone repeatedly throughout the season.
