CMFA Defensive Camp & Combine: Day Two, Part I Standouts

<strong>COLD SPRING, MINN-- </strong>We check-in at Rocori High School today and tomorrow for the Central Minnesota Football Academy Defensive Camp and Combine. This camp features over 75 prospects from all over Central Minnesota from the hosts Rocori, Becker, Albany, Crosby-Ironton, Little Falls, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, Royalton, and many more. They also brought in Rocori alum Eric Decker as a guest speaker, and all the kids got the teaching from college coaches all across Minnesota. This camp was an excellent way to promote Outstate prospects from Central Minnesota, and we are happy to have a small part of putting them on the map. We take a look at the first five standouts from Day Two at the CMFA Defensive Camp &amp; Combine at Rocori High School in this two-part, multi-day series! <strong>Devin Lombard, DB, Foley (2023)</strong> Lombard is a new name on my radar from the Falcons that impressed today at Rocori. I came away impressed with his footwork, and I felt he showed solid touch in 1on1 drills identifying where his defender was and making a play on the ball. I also saw Lombard as a prospect with long arms that can get that extra stretch for the ball. <strong>Noah Dahlberg, DL, Little Falls (2023) </strong> Dahlberg is another new name on our radar here at Prep Redzone Minnesota. He is not the biggest kid on the field when it comes to measurables, but I thought he had solid footwork. His stance in drills looked fundamentally sound, and he should good physicality when working on 1on1 drills this afternoon. He has two more seasons to get some film available to have a projected chance to play at the college level, which I believe is certainly possible based on what I saw today in Cold Spring. <strong>Toby Cebulla, DB, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (2024) | <a href="https://twitter.com/tobycebulla2006">Twitter</a></strong> Cebulla was one of the youngsters that caught my eye in 1on1s from today. I was really impressed with this young man’s physicality level when he jumped in and put a bat on the ball right in the corner of the end zone. Cebulla doesn’t have any film as of yet but should turn into a solid performer for BBE in the coming years. <strong>Connor Motschke, DB/WR, Rocori (2022) | <a href="https://twitter.com/ConnorMotschke">Twitter</a></strong> Motschke impressed me with his ability to adjust on the fly when locking up in coverage. He also was sound at high topping the football from what I watched despite not being the biggest defensive back in the room. Motschke is the Spartan’s go-to punter and one who gets his punts off quickly and with good hangtime. One of the best punters in the area. Motschke also has a solid motor that can collapse into the backfield if you are not careful when he’s playing at DB. A prospect in my eyes is due for more reps at DB as a senior, with some key players graduating at that position like [player_tooltip player_id="18171" first="Tucker" last="Haakonson"]. I will love to see more DB film out of Motschke this coming season, as I feel he has potential as a team captain in his senior season. <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2EjNaR">Jr. Tape</a> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="116255" first="Carter" last="Loesch"], DL/LB, Sauk Rapids-Rice (2022) | <a href="https://twitter.com/carter_loesch">Twitter</a></strong> Coming off a PWO offer from Iowa State, Loesch came into this camp as one of the big dogs I had my eyes on. He was an easy kid to figure out with his 6’3 nearly 220-pound frame early in drills. Loesch has great fast hands that can connect really easily against the defenders he was going up against today. He is a kid you can tell that wants to get better, as he made an effort to work on pass rush drills which were separate from the camp, as he wanted to add another asset to his game at his future prospect camps he attends. Loesch was one of the kids I connected with during day two, and I thought he showed terrific character as well. When I watched Loesch’s film, you first have to look at his quick get off the ball. The thing I like most about his tape is he’s not just a bull rusher coming in hot; he has to shed off some tough blockers to make the plays around him, but does so with ease; as I witnessed today has he showed a quick get off in Cold Spring. I also like Loesch’s coverage area, as his film shows a kid that can cover a lot of space for a sizeable linebacker. Loesch’s physicality level is very high, and it’s no wonder he is raising his stock from a D2 to a D1 prospect. <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2Eah77">Jr. Tape</a> &nbsp;
