The Prep Redzone Canton Showcase on Saturday drew players from across the Buckeye state. Athletes representing the classes of 2022,2023, and 2024 competed for three hours in drills and competition. Here are some of the offensive and defensive linemen that stood out in the pass protection, pass rush competition.
[player_tooltip player_id="160223" first="Quinterrius" last="Jemison"] 6’0” 230 DE Norwood 2023
Jemison was the quickest defensive lineman at the Canton camp. He has a nearly impossible inside move to stop. Jemison also uses his hands well in taking on and disengaging from the offensive blocker. He is a great finisher whose motor doesn’t quit.
[player_tooltip player_id="160216" first="Evan" last="Brown"] 6’4” 290 OT/OG Springboro 2022
Brown is bullish strong and delivers a powerful first punch. On film, Brown displays good feet for such a big man and is an outstanding run blocker. In Canton, he did a good job in pass protection but must be careful not to get over extended when striking a blow.
[player_tooltip player_id="160222" first="Marcus" last="Moore"] Jr 6’2” 340 OT/DT Massillon Washington 2023
This mountain of a man can be a future star for Massillon. He can play either side of the ball due to his size, strength, and mobility. Moore did a great job as a pass rusher in Canton by getting off quickly on the snap and working the edges of the offensive lineman across from him.
[player_tooltip player_id="120100" first="Kyle" last="Pawlicki"] 6’2” 230 DE/TE Anthony Wayne 2022
Pawlicki is a stout and steady football player who plays with leverage and doesn’t stop his feet as a defensive end. It’s tough for an offensive blocker to lock into him due to his lateral quickness and pad level. Pawlicki plays both sides of the ball by playing tight end on offense.
[player_tooltip player_id="160202" first="Carson" last="Stockman"] 6’3” 270 OT Salem 2022
Stockman is a strong offensive tackle who stands out in the running game as a puller and trapper as well as a base blocking offensive lineman that punishes defenders. He is best as pass protector when he locks on to the frame of the rusher and overpowers him with his strength.
[player_tooltip player_id="160201" first="Caleb" last="Stockman"] 6’4” 275 OG Salem 2022
The Stockman brothers are double trouble for their opponents. Like his brother Carson, Caleb is big and powerful and dominates the man across from him in the run game. Caleb is an extra effort guy who simply needs to work on his foot agility in the passing game.
