MIAA B Defensive Stat Leaders

Nabel quickly locates the ball, allowing him to meet ball carriers at the line of scrimmage. A strong open-field tackler, he excels at breaking down his opponents and wrapping them up, consistently maintaining a low pad level. He finished the season with 105 tackles, including 66 solo stops and 10 tackles for loss.       Ritter recently received his first Division I offer from the University of Buffalo after a standout season. He finished with 8 sacks and 17 quarterback hurries, consistently collapsing the pocket from the edge. His athleticism allows him to chase down ball carriers beyond the line of scrimmage, showcasing his versatility. Ritter excels at maintaining leverage in his pass rush, never getting too deep into the pocket, which forces quarterbacks out while keeping himself in position to make a play on the ball. To cap off an impressive season, Ritter was named to the All-Conference team as both a defensive end and long snapper for the second consecutive year.       Johnson demonstrates excellent vision, trusting what he sees in zone coverage to make plays on the ball. He's a sound tackler, he can change the momentum of a game by forcing fumbles, recording four on the season. In coverage, he shows fluid hips and smoothly transitions in and out of his breaks. The veteran defensive back finished with 5 interceptions, including a 70-yard touchdown return. Along with his strong play in coverage, he totaled 31 tackles, 1 sack, and 4 tackles for loss. Although his recruitment hasn't taken off yet, after an impressive junior season, expect him to start drawing the attention of college programs in the region.       Floyd is a dynamic two-way player, excelling at both running back and linebacker. After a standout season at both positions for Severn, Floyd put up his most dominant stats at linebacker, finishing second in total tackles in the MIAA B. He ended the season with 96 total tackles, surpassing 10 tackles in four consecutive games. In addition to his tackle total, Floyd recorded 7 tackles for loss and 1 sack. A hard-hitting, athletic middle linebacker, he also has the versatility to play outside linebacker. Whether carrying the ball or making a stop, Floyd is explosive on contact—always the hammer, never the nail. His most impressive performance came in the final game of the season, where he tallied over 20 tackles and 1 tackle for loss. With his high level of play on both sides of the ball and a 3.9 GPA, it's no surprise that Floyd is poised to play at the next level. It's only a matter of time before college coaches start to take notice of his film.       Erdos is the ultimate playmaker for Boys Latin, showcasing his ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball as just a sophomore. While his offensive skills are undoubtedly game-changing, it's his standout defensive performance this season that earned him a spot on this list. He finished the year with five interceptions, tying for first in the MIAA B. Once he secures an interception, Erdos transitions effortlessly into a natural ball carrier, displaying impressive vision and elusiveness. He's also a reliable tackler, both in open space and in the box. Erdos' versatility and knack for making big plays extend to offense, defense, and special teams. His all-around excellence earned him All-Conference honors at both safety and wide receiver.
