Week 11 – Two Weeks Until Playoffs

Ever since Lakeland beat Venice to win the then 4S state title in Tallahassee last December, high school football programs have been aiming toward the 2024 season.
With time running down – just two weeks separate teams from the post season and withtwo hurricanes passing through west and north Florida, everything was turned upside down with families trying to put their lives back together.
In the wake of the devastation were football teams who needed to have a diversion from nature's reality – playing multiple games each week.
As we head toward week No. 11, here is a look at some top teams:
1 Lakeland (8-0, 5A). LAST WEEK: The Dreadnaughts won for the 14th consecutive time, 47-6, over Lakeland Kathleen. THIS WEEK: 11/6 – Sebring. NEXT GAME: State Playoffs, TBA.
2. Seffner Armwood (8-0, 6A). LAST WEEK: The Hawks continue to impress with a 55-0 win against Tampa Wharton. THIS WEEK: 11/1 - @Riverview. NEXT GAME: 11/7 – Tampa Sickles.
3. Bradenton IMG Academy (6-1, Independent). LAST WEEK: The Ascenders, off for two weeks, came up with an overtime win against national power East St. Louis, 14-13. THIS WEEK: 11/1 - @Baltimore St. Frances Academy. NEXT GAME: St. Thomas More.
4. Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna (8-2, 1A). LAST WEEK: The Lions finished off the regular season with a convincing 62-17 win against Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons. NEXT GAME: State Playoffs, TBA.
5. Orlando Jones (8-0, 4A). LAST WEEK: The Tigers cruised to a 77-0 win against Eagle Lake – Lake Region. THIS WEEK: 11/1 - @ Ocoee. NEXT GAME: 11/7 – Apopka Wekiva.
6. Miami Central (8-1, 3A). LAST WEEK: The Rockets won for the eighth straight time, 41-7, against Pembroke Pines Somerset Academy. NEXT GAME: State Playoffs, TBA.
