I just want to highlight some of these young men for toting the rock and picking up tough yardage. This is not ranked. It is simply a glimpse into what the area has to offer.

The 5'10, 180-pound Barrett Fallon, a 3-sport star, runs the ball recklessly. He is a north/south runner with the speed to beat you to the outside if needed. The Davenport High School Junior has 493 rushing yards, 64 receiving yards, and four touchdowns in only nine quarters of play. He's picking up right where he left off in his sophomore campaign, where he bolstered 2281 total yards and 35 touchdowns. Go ahead and jump on this bandwagon now because he will only get better.

[player_tooltip player_id='836801' first='Bradley' last='Sowersby'] runs the 40 in 4.32 seconds. Go back and read that first sentence again because the kid can move. The Smithson Valley Ranger sits at nearly 200 rushing yards and six touchdowns in 3 games on a team that shares the rushing attack. Bradley isn't just an off-tackle runner; he often gets between the tackles, ripping off significant gains. His shiftiness helps in the crowds, and he is out when he hits that extra gear. Sowersby helped lead the Rangers to State last year as a junior and looks to guide his team deep into the playoffs this season.

Johnson Jaguars Senior running back, Lorenn “Bubba” Johnson is shouldering a big load this season with the departure of star quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='921479' first='Ty' last='Hawkins'] to IMG Academy. Bubba is a bruising back that can run right over you or right around you. The 5'11, 190-pound has 355 rushing yards in 2 games, averaging over 8 yards per carry. This young man has a ton of talent and the work ethic to play at the next level. If he isn't on your list of top 2025s yet, he should be.

The Brennan Bears were tripped up in their first game but have since found their footing, winning their past three games. A big part of their success is 2026 running back Micai Thompson. The 5'11, 175-pound Thompson can move both laterally and north and south. If he gets into open space, he's out. He's clocked at a 4.5 forty time, but his in-game speed seems much faster. Micai has run for 368 yards for five touchdowns on 6.8 yards a carry adding 74 receiving yards and a TD through the air. The junior back has a whole season ahead of him, and he'll have eye-popping numbers when the season is complete.
