West Virginia’s Top 2024 Prospects

We dug deep and analyzed film of 2024 prospects from all around the state of West Virginia. Here's who stood out the most!
RB: Amellio Miller, 5'10, 180, South Charleston A physical north and south runner who always seems to be falling forward. Miller is constantly looking for ways to deliver a blow on a defender. On tape, defenses consistently need multiple tacklers wrapping this kid up to bring him down. He shows great patience and uses subtle cuts to find a seam vertically. With one varsity season under his belt, look for Miller to take big strides in year two and become a workhorse for South Charleston. DE: Aydin Fleming, 6'1, 235, Martinsburg This is a relentless defensive line prospect that is a very gifted hand fighter. Fleming is explosive off the snap and plays with a low pad level. Opposing tackles struggle down blocking him, and it generally ends with him tackling someone in the backfield. He gets extension on single blocks and rips off with ease to make a tackle. Fleming shows adequate bend off the edge and does a good job retracing his steps in his rush lane. TE: Michael Lunsford, 6'3, 240, Cabell Midland I love the attitude this young man plays with on film. Once Lunsford gets his hands on you, he's looking to bury you into the turf. He's got a heavy punch, can generate movement right off the snap, and is always looking for more work downfield. You can't teach this kid's physicality, and I think it's what will make him a really interesting tight-end prospect to college coaches. DB: Wayne Harris, 5'9, 150, South Charleston Harris shows the speed to run with just about anybody and understands how to use his body to lean wideouts out of bounds. On tape, he shows a quick trigger, compact breaks, and the ability to come up & make tackles in space. Harris has experience playing both press and off-man & has shown impressive overall leaping ability. Despite being a smaller defensive back prospect, he's a physical tackler who will go toe to toe with anyone. RB: Amir Julik Hairston, 5'11, 175, Bluefield A shifty tailback prospect with good top-end speed. Amir has shown phenomenal balance and the vision to bounce a run out to the perimeter if a defense doesn't set the edge. Explosive runs of fifteen yards or more were littered all over this young man's tape. Hairston can stop and start on a dime and will make you look silly if you don't take good angles to the football. This is one name to keep an eye on over the next few seasons; I think he could end up being the state's #1 overall running back prospect. ATH: Dylan Ours, 6', 195, Fairmont Senior I got sent Dylan's film a few months back, and man, was he outstanding as a two-way player. On tape, he shows great burst once he diagnoses the run and will rarely miss a tackle behind the line. He has good lateral movement skills and is not afraid to stick his nose in there and meet a back head-on. He's a physical runner as a tailback and does a good job reading his fullback in iso schemes & knows when to bounce runs outside. To me, he's a division one outside linebacker at the next level.
