Mason Rohan Mason Rohan 5'11" | 155 lbs | DB/WR Immaculata | 2030 NJ is another athlete that is tough to box into one position. While he is signed up as a DB, I have now seen him thrive as a DB and a WR at two separate Next events. Earning honorable mention in the secondary back in 2025, Mason proved that he is an instinctive, natural mover in coverage. He displayed quick reaction times and always found a way to put himself in the right position to compete for the ball. With Mason’s ball-hawk abilities, I can see him being a sideline to sidelines safety that can oversee the entire secondary.

A future Delbarton Green Wave, Mason is bringing to Morristown a bona fide stud on both sides of the ball. Looking to bounce back after an injury, Mason has been committed to his offseason work, ready to return not only back to the level he was at previously, but surpassing it by leaps and bounds. I’ve had the chance to see Mason in the past at Next events, and it’s safe to say he is one of the best DBs in NJ’s 2030 class. Last spring, all of the DBs balled out. Being the top position class of the NJ Next event, it was hard to not notice Mason putting on a show. He plays instinctively with a real in depth knowledge of the position, and has the physical skills to move smoothly between transitions and keep up with the quickest of receivers. Standing at 6 feet already, Mason is trending into the Kyle Hamilton type safety. One that can roam sideline to sideline and never be out of position. Always perfecting his craft, Mason’s footwork and quickness is on full display in his off season training.

If this were the NFL franchise’s draft board or a CFB recruiting board, I’d have to start off with “prospect has a lot to prove with the time he’s missed — blah blah blah” but fortunately, this isn’t the place. The South Bound Brook-native is as smooth as they come as a Defensive Back. Long, and plays with educated feet. Have thought of him as a Safety over the last two years, but recent film has me not ruling out Rohan playing CB. In my opinion, he’s one of the best DBs in New Jersey for the class of 2030.

Want to talk about a twitchy, quick and smooth running wide out and defensive back? Mason Rohan has all of that. He is a pure athlete who can catch it and go at the wide out spot. He has awesome ability and agility. He is a smooth runner and a natural player.

Mason is an electric receiver who immediately stands out when he lines up outside. His stature alone sets him apart, towering over the defenders tasked with slowing him down. With room to continue adding size to his frame, Mason is only scratching the surface of his physical potential. Built for contested catch situations, Mason thrives when the ball is in the air, using his length and body control to come down with tough grabs. Just as impressive is his ability to flip a switch and accelerate downfield. Mason uses his long, powerful strides to create separation, leaving trailing defenders in the dust as he pulls away.

While his offensive skill set makes him a true playmaker, what really stands out is how well rounded he’s becoming. Mason’s offseason defensive work has shown flashes of him developing into a rangy, intimidating safety, one who can cover massive amounts of ground. That kind of versatility makes him one of the most exciting 2030 prospects to watch.

Mason showed great size and presence on the field at the Next Combine, immediately standing out with his confidence and control in coverage. During live drills, it was rare to see a receiver make a clean catch against him, as he consistently put himself in the right position to contest every throw. He flashed ball-hawk characteristics, with the instincts and awareness that suggest he could thrive playing high as a safety. His smooth backpedal and ability to flip his hips effortlessly allowed him to cover ground quickly and react with precision, making him one of the more complete and intelligent defensive backs in attendance.

A second Sayreville youth program product is attending in Mason Rohan Mason Rohan 5'11" | 155 lbs | DB/WR Immaculata | 2030 NJ . Rohan, a teammate of Patrick Walsh Patrick Walsh 6'4" | 320 lbs | OL/DL Sayreville | 2030 NJ , represents the secondary. Rohan appears to be a prospect with room to grow into his frame. Already 5’10” and a slight 125lbs, I anticipate Rohan being a wiry defensive back with long limbs who blanket receivers as he runs with them stride-for-stride all day long.

With a towering frame and natural strength, Mason Rohan Mason Rohan 5'11" | 155 lbs | DB/WR Immaculata | 2030 NJ consistently overshadows defenders and wins tough matchups. Mason uses his physicality to dominate at the line of scrimmage and in contested catch situations as well. His long reach gives him an edge against the competition, allowing him to pluck the ball out of the sky with ease.

A polished route runner as well, Mason moves with smooth precision and makes sharp cuts without losing balance. His strong center of gravity keeps him grounded through contact, making him a reliable target in tight windows. This is one of the prime targets to keep an eye on in the class.

In my opinion, Rohan was was easily the the best Wide Receiver/Defensive Back at the tryout. He checked nearly every box for me in terms of physical ability. He was crisp and smooth in his movements–both back pedaling as a Defensive Back and running routes as a Wide Receiver. He stayed balanced and wasted little movement. Has the size and length to play Safety and/or Wide Receiver at a high level. Currently in a period of football where big corners are coveted, Rohan is that guy. He’s a very good one.
