The season has kicked off! We had some thrilling games this past week that we all have been waiting to watch. These teams below were able to win with great execution and game planning. Check out the week 1 recap below.

09/06: Canandaigua Academy vs West Genesee:

This game was fun to watch as it was played in the Syracuse dome! QB [player_tooltip player_id='527734' first='Drew' last='Williamee'] was able to put together some great throws including a huge 3rd &12 pass to move the changes for the first down. Often. Williamee would look for his RB coming out of the backfield in [player_tooltip player_id='1283966' first='Trey' last='Comella'] who was able to make West Genesee defenders miss often. West Genesee did hang around, but Canandaigua was able to put them away with a 21 to 13 final score.

09/06 Hilton vs Churchville-Chili:

It was a heck of a game for Hilton's starting QB Matthew Kosiorek as he was able to put together a lot of impressive drives for his offense. Two of the biggest throws of the night were a 52-yard TD pass to Lucas Russell and a beautiful 19-yard TD pass to [player_tooltip player_id='527739' first='Braydon' last='Pike']. FB, Calvin Starwald also had a very impactful game as he picked up a big 3rd & 8 on a screen. The final score was 43-7 where Hilton had 399 total yards. Certainly, Hilton is picking right back up to the competitive nature they showed last season.

09/06 Penfield vs Brockport

For Penfield High School, it was all about the ground game when they took on Brockport during Friday's contest. Penfield was able to punch in two scores on the ground with a 12-yard and 3-yard touchdown run. Being able to control the LOS was evident in this game. What helped seal the game was a huge 31-yard pass by QB Chase Patton to help seal the 31 to 13 win over Brockport.

09/06 East Rochester vs Honeoye Falls-Lima

It was a back-and-forth game here between East Rochester and Honeoye Falls-Lima, but the game ended in a 25 to 12 score with Honeoye Falls-Lima coming out victorious. Nathan Meacham put together a strong performance through the air with 182 passing yards. Meacham also had a very impressive 53-yard TD where he was able to pump fake the DB and find his man down the field. The other fast play to grant the win for Honeoye Falls-Lima was Keaton Yates who was able to take a quick pass 74-yards to the house. The explosive speed that Yates had to outrun the entire defense was fantastic to watch.

09/06 Aquinas Institute vs Bishop Timon-St. Jude

It was a total beat down when Aquinas took on Bishop Timon-St. Jude with a 38-0 final score. QB [player_tooltip player_id='501394' first='Trent' last='Buttles'] had a heck of a game where he was able to tiptoe near the sideline to rush for a TD in the early portion of the game. The defense for Aquinas also showed up being able to hold the opposition to 0 points but also caused a fumble early in the first quarter. That fumble recovery by C.J. Flaherty set up a 59-yard TD pass to [player_tooltip player_id='390760' first='Derrion' last='Battle'].A fast start for Aquinas in the first week.
