The final week of preseason scrimmages concluded on Friday with the start of the 2024 right around the corner. Below are a few performances that caught my eye this Week. A few of the names you've heard about if you have been reading Prep Redzone but a few are brand new to our scouts.

[player_tooltip player_id='853294' first='Peyton' last='Groce'] - 2026 ATH - Gordon Lee

Groce is not a new name to us here at Prep Redzone. We have wrote about him several times since he put up a Top 5 40 yard time at our Redzone Camp this Spring. He followed that up with a 4.59 laser 40 this Summer during the TeamFyn Summer Combine Series, the fastest time among the 180 campers tested. The returning All Region ATH scored 3 TDs in the 1st half of their scrimmage at North Murray. One was an impressive 70+ yard run where he had to make several cuts to avoid defenders then outraced everyone to the endzone. Personally one of my favorited "Under the Radar" recruits in the NWGA Area and we expect his recruiting to pick up significantly after this Fall.

Jayden Sibley - 2025 QB/ATH - Gordon Central

The Gordon Central Warriors are looking to end one of the longest winless streaks in the State this year and their chances look good if Friday is any indication with Sibley at QB. The 5'8 160 ATH is a kid we were high on at the SS position his sophomore year after he made the All Region Team. From what I understand Friday was his 1st time playing QB and he performed well. Athletic guy that can use his feet to extend plays, has good downfield vision and hit his receivers in stride on a couple of long TD passes. He passed for 3 TDs Friday night vs Coahulla Creek and played DB on defense, rarely leaving the field. Keep an eye on this guy as he gets comfortable under center this Fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1776960' first='Jared' last='Mitchell'] - 2026 WR/FS - Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe

I still find it hard to believe this 6'3 175 WR/FS has not found his way into the Prep Redzone Top 200 yet. An outstanding athlete with good speed, hands and length. Was an All Region selection at DB as a Freshman and a GACA Sophomore All Star selection last Fall. He had a very productive scrimmage Friday night in a 38-0 win over SE Whitfield. Mitchell had 5 catches for 62 with 3 TDs and added an INT on defense, all in just 2 Quarters of varsity play. A skilled player on both side of the ball and is one of my "Junior Breakout" predictions for 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552049' first='Ethan' last='Willingham'] - 2025 WR - Trion

The 6'1 180 Senior WR was listed a few weeks back on Prep Redzone as a WR to watch in 2024, he showed a glimpse of why on Friday. Good route runner that uses change of pace well to create space between himself and the defender. A ball hawk that has the athletic ability to catch ball that may not be thrown perfect. Tough kid that doesn't mind sticking his nose in their and catching a ball in traffic. Does a good job getting YAC with his physicality and speed with long strides. Willingham is a WR that has the skill set to play somewhere at the next level and we look forward to following him this season.
