[player_tooltip player_id='212362' first='Roman' last='Voss'] is the younger brother of former South Dakota State QB Rudy Voss, and Roman is destined to follow in his brother's footsteps to be a D1 athlete. Voss won the South Central-Silver District Player of the Year award last season, a year where his playmaking ability was on full display. Voss is a dangerous scrambler, and when he breaks into the open, it's very hard to catch him. As a passer, Voss shows poise and confidence in the pocket, and shows impressive accuracy on his deep passes. Voss holds offers from 7 D1 teams, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, and most recently, California. Voss will look to push Jackson County Central for a state championship run in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='1204385' first='Landon' last='Quist'] has been another exciting athlete from the South Central. Quist is a very dangerous scrambler, and it was his legs that helped spread out the offense last season. Quist also has a cannon of an arm, launching deep passes down the field, and has shown excellent accuracy throwing on the run. Quist's dynamic skillset could make him a very good QB in the collegiate level, and he's already had looks from several D2 teams. If Quist can show more growth as a pocket passer this season, Quist could surge into being one of the top QBs in the state by the end of the year.

Although the Knights struggled last season to a winless record, I was impressed by the leadership and competitive attitude that was displayed by QB Nathan Sickler. Sickler throws a spectacular deep ball, hitting several long seams down the middle of the field over the course of the year with confidence. Sickler took a lot of pressure last season, and he proved to be elusive out of the pocket, while showcasing excellent accuracy throwing on the run. Sickler has already been looked at by several D3 teams. I believe that the Knights will improve greatly with Sickler leading the way in 2024, and that could propel Sickler into a nice spot in the recruiting rankings heading into next offseason.

Jordan Johnston is quickly budding into one of the most evasive QBs in the South-Central Division. Playing for a team that utilizes a run-heavy offense, Johnston has shined in this system, showing dangerous speed and acceleration around the edge. On the air, Johnston throws a pretty ball, showing accuracy in 50-50 situations by nailing the pass to only where the WR could get it, as well as accuracy in small windows over the middle of the field. Waseca will be a dangerous team in the division moving forward with Johnston leading the offense.

Alex Glende has been an interesting player to watch for the Titans. For a team that is very much a run-first team, Glende doesn't get as much opportunities to throw, but he has proven to be an excellent fit for the offense. Glende has the frame and speed of a WR, and that shows when he moves out of the pocket. Glende is an accurate passer on the run, and also showed creativity in his instincts. A particular example of this came against Belle Plaine, off a bobbled snap, he rolled out and hit a shovel pass to his Tailback running out of the flat. I'm intrigued to see Glende play in 2024, and Tri-City should be confident revolving their offense around him this season.

After sitting behind QB Jack Olson last season, Graham Helgerson is poised to become the starting QB for Jordan in 2024. Helgerson played well in limited snaps, showing solid accuracy in his deep passes. Helgerson plays with poise in the pocket, making his progressions and reads at each level, and moves in the pocket well. Helgerson will be a major breakout candidate in the division in 2024 as he looks to help Jordan maintain a competitive edge.
