With the 2024 season rapidly approaching, the PRZ Iowa crew has been working hard behind the scenes to update our player rankings before the season kicks off. While we watch and review film from players across the state, I will be doing film session features on players who are new to my radar or have "re-caught" my attention. I will be keeping a close eye on these guys, and you should too!

Here are four prospects with impressive tape that could be on the verge of blowing up in 2024!

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1279897' first='Blake' last='Dunagan'] is a player who looks primed to have a big year after an All-District caliber season in 2023. Blake is a tall, lean 6'4", 240-pound defensive end with impressive length (78" wingspan) to his frame. Dunagan really impresses on tape with his ability to fire off the ball and play physically when fighting off blockers. He does an excellent job using his long reach to extend and shed blockers before closing in on the ball. Blake flashed a strong, sturdy base that allowed him to anchor down when taking on double teams and keep himself from getting pushed off his spot. Blake's tireless pursuit and lateral quickness make it very tough for ball carriers to escape when he has them in his sights. Physical tackler who uses good technique to secure the stop. Blake currently holds an offer from Sioux Falls, but will likely add more once more teams catch wind of him this fall... buy stock NOW!!

Sioux City North senior [player_tooltip player_id='773218' first='Isaiah' last='Sanchez'] is a player who is surprisingly still flying under the radar despite possessing a versatile skillset. Isaiah jumped onto our radar last winter when he earned LB MVP honors at the Stock Up showcase. Isaiah definitely has the skillset of a linebacker who can compete at the next level, along with a sturdy frame at 6'0" and 190 pounds. Isaiah is very instinctive and showed that he is quick to trigger the run with a fast break on the ball and the closing speed to fill in lanes effectively. Physical tackler. One thing that impressed me about Isaiah at camp was his ability to cover backs and receivers. He has the lateral quickness to stick to receivers as they change direction in their routes. Active hands to swat away passes. Isaiah also hauled in three receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him become a bigger part of the offense this fall. Coaches, get at this guy asap!

I'm very excited to see how junior [player_tooltip player_id='1221956' first='Dawson' last='Kreykes'] is able to follow up a breakout sophomore campaign that resulted in All-District honors. The Sibley-Ocheyedan prospect proved to be a reliable target after hauling in 27 receptions for 478 yards and scoring 5 receiving touchdowns. One thing that immediately stands out about Dawson is his 6'2" and 185-pound frame that can create mismatches against defenses. As a bigger receiver, Dawson is able to push his weight around to "out-physical" defenders on contested catches, especially in the redzone. He also does an excellent job using his athleticism and leaping ability to elevate over defenders to ensure he comes down with those 50/50 balls. Don't underestimate Dawson's speed either, as he showed he can find ways to slip behind defenders when going vertical, as evidenced by his 17.7 yards per reception. Big year coming up for Dawson!

[player_tooltip player_id='1242840' first='Talan' last='Fuson'] | 2026 | QB/DB/ATH | Woodward-Granger | 5'11" 180 lbs

Woodward-Granger junior [player_tooltip player_id='1242840' first='Talan' last='Fuson'] is a very interesting prospect to keep an eye on this season. Fuson is listed as a defensive back in our rankings but also flashed a ton of upside on the offensive side of the ball as a dual-threat QB. As a sophomore, Talan passed for 556 yards with 4 passing touchdowns while also gaining 539 yards and 7 touchdowns on the ground. Fuson's playmaking ways continued on defense, where he was able to tally 31.5 tackles, 3 TFLs, and snagged 3 interceptions. On offense, Talan's arm, along with his speed and elusiveness on the ground, make him a tough player to plan against. On top of Talan being very twitchy with the ball in his hands, he also showed a great level of toughness as he won't hesitate to drop his shoulder and take on some contact when running the ball. Fuson might project best on the defensive side of the ball, where his speed and instincts at the cornerback spot earned him All-District honors last season. Talan is fluid with his hips, allowing him to break on the ball as soon as he sees the ball coming out, and he is a sure tackler when he gets to the ball. Physical in coverage— will engage in hand fighting or look to snag the ball for himself. Hidden gem prospect with a ton of upside!
