About Matt
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
Simply put I play all-out all the time.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
In order to successfully play “all-out all the time,” it requires me to have a very short memory. It is important not to rest on my laurels or wallow in regret. If I make a great catch for a touchdown, I hand the ball to the referee and then line up for the next play without regards to the past. If I make a mistake, I learn from it, but turn the page by the time I line up for the next play.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I think I have developed leadership qualities. I don’t lead by imposing my will on others, rather I seek to demonstrate traits of a leader such as self-awareness, humility, influence, courage and being goal-oriented.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
When I first started playing lacrosse, I was put on the B team. Rather than be upset, I concentrated on getting better and being stronger than anyone on the field. By 8th grade, I was one of the core guys on the A team and we won the CT-NY Youth Lacrosse Championship. From this experience, I learned if you’re working hard, your time will come. Most importantly, believe in yourself.
What type of college are you looking for?
My ultimate sports goal is to play college football at the highest level I can achieve.
