No matter what position or city that it may be, this rising junior class is now starting to make its way into the spotlight, and it is coming right in time for spring.
As many of the elite performers have been pushed out there for colleges to at least see them perform, the same cannot be said for everyone in this deep and quality class.
To say the next few months will be vital to this class – and perhaps every other class that has hopes of playing college football – is an understatement.
While college coaches will not have the opportunity to see the prospects live once again this spring, it will be up to the athletes, high school coaches and parents to be proactive in this process – and film practices and scrimmages so college coaches will at least see the growth and maturity – and then when June 1 comes along, things are expected to change.
The NCAA will be lifting the no contact rule, so hosting camps and talking with athletes will finally happen.
When you make any list, you will have those who disagree to disagree because that is human nature. To fully comprehend and understand that we have been authoring lists for a half century in the name of promotion – and that is what this 2023 group that we posted last week is all about. We exposed 563 players in one class – in one state!
As we will continue to promote athletes throughout the course of the next few weeks – leading up to spring – we will bring you a little bit about each athlete to tell you, firsthand why they are listed and what they bring to the table.
The great thing about Prep Redzone Florida is that it’s all about getting it right – and that’s why we will update these ranking throughout the next year, leaving NOBODY out of the mix.
Today, we bring you five more elite players to keep an eye on:
Cedric Baxter Cedric Baxter 6'1" | 215 lbs | RB Orlando Edgewater | 2023 State FL , RB, 6-1, 215, Orlando Edgewater. Even though he decommitted from FSU, the Seminoles remain very high on this impressive runner’s list of schools. This is a big-time football talent who has shown the past two years that he belongs on the field with anyone. A quick, bruising runner who is athletic and extremely talented, leading the Eagles to a pair of 7A state finals. The great thing about this young man is he still has plenty of room to grow.

Kaven Call Kaven Call 6'2" | 230 lbs | DL Apopka | 2023 State FL , DE, 6-3, 225, Apopka. Yet another talented prospect that didn’t get the spotlight he deserved in the off-season, and now that he is getting the chance to showcase his many skills, everyone is starting to take notice of his play-making abilities. Has the quickness and athleticism to compete against anyone – and because the Blue Darters always have a challenging schedule, he will be able to further jump on the radar in 2021. College coaches and recruiting analysts will be able to see what this young man brings to the table. Solid football player!

Samuel M’Pemba Samuel M’Pemba 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Bradenton IMG Academy | 2023 State FL , DE, 6-4, 230, Bradenton IMG Academy. No matter where you put this “monster” he is going to standout – and that’s why he is such an elite football talent. Line him up at receiver, tight end or defensive end and this is a dominating player who has everything it takes to be a great one at this level and into the future. This is someone who will remain a top tier player over the next few seasons at IMG. Just watch him play and you will be sold – right away. College coaches are making him a priority.

Antonio Robinson Jr, CB, 5-10, 165, Miami Florida Christian. Here is another football talent that many recruiting analysts automatically pushed him toward the back of the pack after seeing him play a total of ZERO downs of football. Well, keep this in mind: this could be the most athletic player in the entire 2023 class – and it may not even be close. Dominating football prospect – on either side of the ball, superb track performer and an up-and-coming baseball prospect who runs, hits and throws. Add that to the fact that he is an excellent student and you have a winning combination. By the way, he is the son of a one-time NFL standout, who continues to work with his son.

Treyaun Webb Treyaun Webb 6'1" | 205 lbs | RB Jacksonville Trinity Christian | 2023 State FL , RB, 6-0, 190, Jacksonville Trinity Christian. Another gifted football talent that backed off his college commitment for now, but just like any top-flight athlete who was short-changed during this pandemic, he wants to get a chance to see other colleges. This is easily one of the top running backs in the state – and leading his team to the 3A state title last year – his stock went up even further after recruiting analysts and services finally had the chance to watch him play live, which is very important – to see past what he brings to the table that you cannot see from sitting at home in front of computer.
