Expert Analysis
Scott Burgess | Prep Redzone Scout
Davis is a 5’9″ 185 pound running back with quick feet and excellent side cuts. Makes defenders miss in the hole and open field. Also has some power to his game. Can catch the ball out of the backfield and overall is a good athlete.

At most high school football programs, I think 5’9, 185 lber.

gets varsity carries as a freshman, but Brother Rice isn’t your normal high school football program. Davis, who also competes in track and field as a high jumper and sprinter in the 100M and 200M, has the freshman tape that screams D1 RB prospect, despite it coming against non-varsity competition.
Davis took an unofficial to Illinois for a spring practice in April, showing early glimpses of where his recruitment is heading, and he displays a fluid, shifty, and quick-footed running style that can cut on a dime at any given moment while keeping defenders on their heels as they try to anticipate where he’s going to cut to. Davis is a patient runner who creates and uses space effectively, works to the sideline, and sets up defenders to slow their feet and burn their pursuit angle along the way. He demonstrates splash-play, homerun speed that can take the ball to the house from any spot on the gridiron, and he can get up to top speed quickly and hits the hole at full tilt. Davis can easily outrun pursuers and create TD carries without being touched and shows great balance while he fights to stay upright and easily work through weaker tackle attempts. I also like his vicious truck stick that he throws out when he drops his pads, and the young Crusader RB has no issues with running you over and going North-South through defenders. I think he’s got a great chance to be the next great skill player out of Brother Rice and is bound for P4 attention and potentially offers. The only reason he isn’t ranked higher is the lack of varsity reps as a freshman. Big-time name to know out of the class.
