A Running Back in a pass first offense will not light up the stat sheet but the film doesn’t lie. Carter Switek Carter Switek 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Orchard Park | 2025 State NY is a straight ahead runner with great cutting ability. He is also a vital part of the Quakers air attack with his excellent hands and solid route running. He is incredibly versatile as he can line up in the backfield or out wide like a receiver. With that being said, Switek has accumulated over 1,300 yards and 16 touchdowns in his 2 varsity seasons. I expect big things to come his way as a senior.

In 2021 and 2022, Tyrone Hughes Jr Tyrone Hughes Jr RB McKinley | 2025 State NY dominated the run game at McKinley, piling up 2,382 yards. In his junior season, Hughes transferred to a different school and had a down season. But now, he is back with the Macks. Tyrone has phenomenal vision and breakaway speed. His patience for the play to develop is unparalleled. This is a player with a lot to prove as a senior coming back to where it all started. A big season in 2024 will bring a ton of collegiate recognition.
Shamier Land Shamier Land 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Bennett | 2025 State NY played a complimentary role in his freshman and sophomore seasons but an injury forced him to miss his junior year. Now with Bennett’s leading ball carrier from 2023 graduating, the door is wide open for Land to take the reigns and run with them. Shamier is a physical specimen with impeccable balance. He is a tough runner between the tackles and is always fighting for extra yards, along with the speed to take it the distance. On a team loaded with offensive weapons, Shamier should be the guy that carries the run game. A big senior season should bring on some major Division I offers.
First thing that comes to mind when talking about Anthony Anselm Anthony Anselm 5'8" | 155 lbs | WR Starpoint | 2025 State NY is speed. This young man can flat out fly. In his first season on track this past spring, Anthony ran a 10.7 in the 100 meter dash and finished 4th in sectionals. His speed translated to the football field as he led Starpoint with 18.5 yards per catch. He has excellent hands and moves the chains well. I expect a big senior season and between football and track, he will find himself on a top collegiate roster in 2025.

Blake Minsterman Blake Minsterman ATH Lancaster | 2025 State NY was Lancaster’s 2nd leading receiver in 2023 with his solid route running and excellent concentration. Blake can line up in the slot or in the “X” position. He is a sound stalk blocker and blocks to the whistle. What impressed me the most his his body control and how he always catches with his hands.
Highlights
John Gang John Gang WR Lancaster | 2025 State NY is a prototypical slot receiver. A tough player that catches the ball in traffic and is excellent after the catch. He has good awareness and is hard to bring down on first contact. Gang has the ability to find holes in the defense and moves the chains as well as anyone.

A two time All Western New York Honorable Mention, Caiden Overkamp Caiden Overkamp 5'11" | 160 lbs | QB Williamsville South | 2025 State NY should be going into his senior season with a chip on his shoulder. After throwing for over 2,000 yards and 22 TDs as a sophomore, Caiden hit a statistical slump as a junior but that didn’t stop him from showing his natural leading abilities. Overkamp is a pure pocket passer whose internal clock is on point. He has good arm strength and excellent accuracy. Under the tutelage of WNY QB guru, Joe Licata, he is poised for a big senior season.
