Jonathan is committed to Lenoir-Rhyne University, and they are getting a special player up front. Jonathan comes off the football in the running game, unlike any player I’ve seen in a while. His burst and surge are impressive, and his presence has helped the Green Wave remain undefeated so far this season. Jonathan also does a nice job in pass protection, and he sets the tone through leading by example. He’s a player I enjoy watching on film because of those traits.

Jonathan is another player I am glad to see get on the board with some offers. He had a strong performance at the Mega Camp, which earned him an offer from Lenoir-Rhyne University. That goes along with offers he previously received from Concord University, Catawba College, and UNC Pembroke. The good thing Jonathan is showing is his ability to pass protect in space, college coaches already know he is a powerful run blocker from his film. Jonathan should continue to see more recruiting attention come his way as the summer goes along. I spoke with Jonathan after his strong camp performance.

Jonathan has started picking up some long overdue recruiting interest and offers coming into this showcase, and if he is able to perform well here, he could have an exponential rise in term of his recruitment. The good thing for Jonathan is that his film shows that he is a dominant run blocker, so to see how well he can move in space and pass protect will do nothing but help enhance him if he performs well.

Jonathan is a POWERFUL run blocker on the interior of the offensive line that the Green Wave ran behind a good bit in a strong season that ended in the 3rd round of the state playoffs. I love the way Jonathan comes off the football and plays to the echo of the whistle. Jonathan has continued to receive consistent college football interest and should see that translate into offers as he gets into his senior year.

Playing Center last season, I think Jonathan was one of the more dominant linemen that I saw up close. The impressive thing about Jonathan is just the power and intensity he plays with in his blocking style. It is an old-school, fire off the ball, and just put you in the dirt mentality that allows him to dominate the line of scrimmage in the run game. I think Center or Guard is his best position at the next level for this reason. Jonathan has received a good bit of recruiting attention from Coastal Carolina, and he should receive a lot more in my honest opinion. He is an easy selection for this Junior Bowl game.

Jonathan played Center for the Green Wave, but he can also play either guard position as well. Ashbrook focused their run game primarily right up the middle against the Chargers, and it was smart game planning because Jonathan consistently was road grading the Crest defensive Linemen in the first half as Ashbrook controlled the ball for the majority of the half in building a 12-7 lead. Jonathan I believe has the talent to be a Division 1 center in his future.

When you look at Jonathan’s film, it just excites you for football. He is a dominant interior run blocker who plays to the echo of the whistle and is a tone setter for the entire offensive line. Jonathan is also a hard worker in the weight room. He has some college interest from a recruiting perspective but no offers at this point – as long as he continues to be patient he will get some offers to come his way at the right time in my opinion.
