Tucker Schwartz has been a massive piece of Huntsville’s offensive success the last few seasons- he makes his teammates lives a whole lot easier with how well he blocks. Schwartz is a dominant offensive tackle that has a lot of athleticism at his position- he has some very solid speed and can maneuver around the field really well at 6’3 290, making him a really valuable contributor in their run game. Schwartz can seal off the edge at the line of scrimmage to help outside runs develop and also has the ability to go step for step with the ball carrier to make key blocks in the second and third level downfield. It’s seriously difficult for defensive linemen to work their way around him, he stands his ground really well and is an absolute mauler in the run game. Schwartz has started to make a name for himself out on the recruiting trail- he’s picked up offers from both Air Force and Army over the last few months! Keep an eye on him this fall, he’s a really impressive prospect that is bound to be one of the top OL in the state!
Highlights
Robert McMillian has been an terrific left tackle out of Williamson the last few seasons that has really impressed us. At 6’3 290 McMillian is absolutely massive and uses his size and physicality to greatly overpower the defensive linemen he faces off against. McMillian is a physical challenge for defenders to overcome and has shocking athleticism at his size that allows him to make impacts both in the run game and in pass protection. McMillian does a great job using his size and strength to his advantage in pass protection- it’s seriously hard to find any tape of him getting moved against his will- he is anchor on the left side that rarely allows any pressure or hits on the quarterback. In addition to his work in the passing game, McMillian is excellent in their rushing game as well- he makes a lot of key blocks both at the line of scrimmage and in the second level that allow runs to go great distances. McMillian has had a big year in the recruiting world- he’s picked up offers from UCF, Troy, Houston, and more. With how well he’s been performing upfront, expect to see that list grow even more!
Lance Johnson has been phenomenal at tackle for Ramsay over the last few years- he has consistently been able to provide great pass protection and run blocking no matter who he’s been lined up against. Johnson is extremely agile and can make a lot of crucial blocks in the open fields- making him really reliable on screen passes or when he’s moving from level to level in the run game. In pass protection, Johnson utilizes his strength and 6’3 275 frame to really anchor down his side of the line- he very rarely gives up any pressure and is able to completely nullify pass rushers on his side of the field. It’s impressive seeing how calm Johnson plays while still maintaining his aggression and physicality- he doesn’t panic, sets his feet, and plants defenders into the turf. With how well he’s been playing Johnson has been picking up some much deserved attention from the next level. In the last few weeks he’s picked up new offers from Southeast Missouri, Samford, Howard, and more!
