Impressive Linemen at the All-Ohio Showcase

This past weekend around 175 players attended the All-Ohio Showcase in Springfield, Ohio. Mike Robinson and crew put the athletes through agility stations along with position specific drills and competitions. Not only was the number of athletes attending impressive, but so was the quality of the talent at the showcase. Here are a few of the offensive and defensive linemen attending that stood out in the pass pro and pass rush competition. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="123245" first="Vasean" last="Washington"]     6’5” 265     OL     Springfield     2022</strong> Washington was one of the most physically impressive players at the showcase. He has a huge wingspan to go along with excellent mobility for his size. He uses his long arms to keep rushers at bay and often steering them deeper than the quarterback. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="119946" first="Evan" last="Tengesdahl"]     6’4” 275     OL     Huber Heights Wayne     2023</strong> Tengesdahl will only be a junior this season. He uses his hands well in pass protection in controlling the pass rusher and keeping them from getting into his body exhibiting exceptional arm extension. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="123248" first="Khalil" last="Walker"]     6’3” 290     OL     Canton McKinley     2022</strong> Walker came all the way from Canton to participate in the showcase and it was worth the trip. Defensive linemen had no chance of power rushing him as he used his body to cover up and stalemate rushers. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="123249" first="Mike" last="Seney"]     6’3” 250     OL     Perrysburg     2022</strong> This guy couldn’t have worked harder at getting repetitions in the competition, he kept jumping in every chance possible. A true offensive center, Seney worked his hands into the frame of the rusher and showed foot quickness in keeping his body between the rusher and his quarterback. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="123250" first="Antwan" last="Blackshear"]     6’3” 310     DL/OL     Trotwood Madison     2022</strong> Antwan worked both sides of the ball in the pass rush drills and was dominating in both. As an inside rusher, Blackshear was quick off the ball and delivered a devastating first strike to the blocker then quickly disengaged to get to the ball. Offensively, he was extremely fluid for a big man. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="120188" first="Rico" last="Franklin-Davis"]     6’3” 235     DL     Olentangy Orange     2022</strong> Rico is one of the best senior defensive ends in central Ohio for the upcoming season. He is extremely quick off the ball and works the edges of the pass blocker exceptionally well. Rico gives great effort every snap. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="123251" first="Tywan" last="January"]     5’11” 260     DL     Springfield     2022</strong> January is a stocky and strong interior defensive lineman whose motor never quits. He has excellent quickness for his size and works the push-pull pass rush technique to perfection as he slides his hips to the outside to finish the move.
