In watching RJ in action last year in a big game against Ardrey Kell, I was very impressed with what he put on tape that night. A quick and shifty athlete, RJ excels at reading blocks and making the appropriate cuts to gain yardage in the running game. An all-conference selection, RJ had 1,053 all-purpose yards and 11 total touchdowns. At 5’9 and 175 pounds, RJ shows some three-down back ability with the talent to make catches in the passing game and win in coverage against linebackers. RJ has some college interest currently, and I think getting out to some camps this spring and summer will further enhance that interest and put him on some recruiting boards.
Antavius Carpenter – Harding
I saw Antavius have an absolute monster of a game against Garinger last season – he had 5 rushing touchdowns and two interceptions on defense. You want to see players with talent shine when they should – and Antavius did that. At 5’9 and 160 pounds, Antavius is electric with the football in the open field. He shows strong speed and agility and has good vision when reading blocks and sets them up to change directions and pick up yardage. Antavius performed well in an offseason showcase – winning a top performer award as a running back. I am excited to see him in some upcoming spring and summer camps.
Cash Hunter – South Mecklenburg
A 5’10 180-pound prospect, Cash was an all-conference selection last season. Looking at the film, Cash is a powerful interior runner who has the speed to take runs the distance in the open field. One thing that stands out is Cash’s ability to run through some tackles – it always appeared that on most of his runs, he was running through initial tackle attempts with ease. Cash also shows the talent to catch the ball out of the backfield. Cash currently has some college interest, and with a strong performance in the upcoming camp season, Cash should get on some recruiting boards for local colleges.
Ziere Brooks Ziere Brooks 5'9" | 170 lbs | RB Chambers | 2025 State NC – Chambers
I watched Ziere win a running back MVP award at a local showcase in December, and the biggest thing I could say about that performance was that Ziere was consistent in showing his athletic ability, speed, and catching ability from the running back position. I have followed him since he was a freshman, and I think this year he could have a breakout season – the talent is there, and he’s waited patiently as Chambers has had a lot of overall skill talent the past couple of years. Ziere has some college interest, and he is a relentless worker – he has constantly posted videos of him training and working in the weight room. Those things don’t go unnoticed, and I am excited to see how his senior season progresses.
Curtis Clark – Mallard Creek
Curtis is a player that I have followed since his JV football days, and I am excited to see him perform in his senior year. Curtis is a player with some game-breaking speed – while he has some very good natural talent, that talent is enhanced by his participation in track – running a 4.4 40-yard dash per his profile. When you look at his highlight film – Curtis shows some ability to line up as a slot wide receiver and catch passes – something that is exciting to see. There could be some future jet sweeps and reverses coming off of that formation with his talent. Curtis also plays some quarterback and runs read option well. But Curtis also throws a touchdown pass off of a halfback pass setup, so there could be some real creative opportunities this upcoming season. That being said, seeing Curtis in some spring and summer camps should enhance his recruiting for sure.
Reese Graham – Olympic
Reese stands at 5’10 and 180 pounds, and he is another player I’ve covered the past couple of years and has been excited with his athletic ability and speed in the open field. He has paired with Devin Walker Devin Walker 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Olympic | 2025 State NC the past couple of years to form a dynamic combo in the backfield for Olympic. This past season, Reese had over 1000 all-purpose yards and finished second overall on the team with catches – a snapshot into his multi-threat ability with him. Taking a look at the film, Reese does a good job of getting in and out of the hole on inside runs – getting to the outside and using his speed for big gains. Reese can line up as a receiver and be a threat in the quick-screen game, and also he can be a deep threat on seam routes out of the slot. I will be excited to see Reese in camps this spring and summer.
Davi Caixeta – Providence
I saw Davi up close in a game against Butler – the thing that impressed me in that game was how hard Davi ran against a very tough opponent – his tough running led to a touchdown specifically. At 5’10 and 190 pounds, last season Davi had 742 yards rushing and 8 touchdowns in 9 games, with an 8.2 yards per carry average. Davi does have some college interest currently, and it appears he will be active in the spring and summer camp season which I always advocate for. When you take a look at the film, you see Davi’s hard running consistently as he runs through tackles at a high rate. Davi follows his blockers very well – in particular on power and counter plays behind pulling linemen. Davi also shows some ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. Good overall running back.
