He’s a long and athletic prospect with a high ceiling as a tight end at the next level. If they can open up the passing game more in their single-wing system, Armentrout will prove to be a dangerous threat. He’ll also create havoc at defensive end and has the potential to play there in college as well.

Armentrout measured in at 6’3 218 at our camp and has legit TE size for the D2-level. He was right in the mix as a WR Top Performer at the camp as a TE and has the potential to grow into a DE prospect as well. Armentrout has the athleticism and ball skills to develop into a true pass-catching threat in the right offense and has plenty of experience blocking in Musselman’s new run-focused offense.

He’s a long and athletic prospect which has proven to be a tough combination for opposing offensive linemen so far. Armentrout can be a stand-up edge rusher which likely best fits him right now as he adds weight to his 6’4 frame and can play contain or rush the passer from that alignment. He’ll still put his hand on the ground as a traditional DE too at times whose length and athleticism allow him to cover a lot of country on the outside. Musselman may be having a down season with a lot of new and young players, but Armentrout is standing out through four weeks and shouldn’t go unnoticed.
