This group of five prospects in my eyes certainly thread the needle with growing their skillsets during the 2023 season as we saw enhanced physicality, crafty route-runners, and swiss army knifes all over this Part I list.
Nate Walz Nate Walz 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Jamestown | 2025 State ND , WR, Jamestown (2025) Twitter
Nate was a wide receiver prospect I had high expectations for before the 2023 fall season, and he certainly lived up to the hype as a 1st Team All-State selection at WR in 11AA out of Jamestown. Nate flies out on tape with his accelerator and his lengthy strides show off even more promise with how athletically he extends downfield. He also shows off upside with his catch radius and does so with versatility on short routes to deep routes. He has some development growing his agility with his route-running but Nate is by far my favorite Blue Jays target in this 2025 class and certainly has a college football future.
Joshua Chavez Joshua Chavez 6'1" | 195 lbs | LB Watford City | 2025 State ND , LB/RB, Watford City (2025) Twitter
A second team All-Stater in 11AA was rising 2025 Watford City target Joshua Chavez Joshua Chavez 6'1" | 195 lbs | LB Watford City | 2025 State ND . I had Joshua graded out as a running back from our last update via the tape he had, but he was dynamic on both sides of the Wolves in 2023. His middle linebacker tape shows nothing but pure athleticism when starting with his stance. He shows off well-versed attacking angles as a prospect that has a sound football IQ to fight downhill to the ball. Joshua also does a great job plugging his gaps with fluidity when he enters the mesh of the tackle box. On the offensive side of the ball, Joshua shows off elusiveness upon getting the ball in his hands and runs with fluidity. He can develop this offseason with his agility and durability, and finish on the second level of field. He certainly is a prospect with a good shot at the next-level.
Zachary Smith Zachary Smith 5'11" | 200 lbs | LB Tri-State | 2025 State ND , LB, Tri-State (2025) Twitter
You can tell by watching his junior tape that Zachary has certainly been in the weight room last offseason as he certainly has upped the heck out of his physicality since watching his sophomore tape last winter. I also have seen his instincts in pass coverage grow even since our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase last Spring. He plays with such a competitive motor that has plenty of longevity. Zachary has certainly grown his skillsets to become a sideline to sideline linebacker. He easily is a linebacker you go outside the measurables threshold for college coaches.
Joshua Juve Joshua Juve 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Thompson | 2025 State ND , RB, Thompson (2025) Twitter
The growth of Joshua’s agility during the 2023 season certainly was eye-popping to watch on tape. He shows off plenty of awareness within his twitch and sells that every time he has the ball in his hands. He might be one of the most fluid running backs in this 2025 class in North Dakota. Joshua also impresses me with how well he progresses in the open field as a pass-catcher. Joshua also shows off electric vision in some tight windows of the field and that shows consistency on tape.
Treyson Iglehart Treyson Iglehart 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Velva | 2025 State ND , WR, Velva (2025) Twitter
Treyson has some well-built craft with his route-running ability and his skillsets he has coming back to the ball have shown off all the athleticism he has at his disposal. He also plays with plenty of composure as a pass-catcher as Treyson is quick to bring the ball to his chest and get downfield quickly with his long-strides and has the ability to stretch out for several high-traffic catches on tape. There certainly is scholarship-level college football in his future.
