While Week 10 in the GSPD didn’t include any region championship games – those were all decided by Week 9 – what it did have plenty of was monster performances that helped a few teams put an exclamation point on their regular seasons.
Each of the following are playoff bound with a bit more confidence.
Jamarion Fling Jamarion Fling 5'8" | 160 lbs | RB Dillon | 2025 State SC RB, Dillon
While the winless opponent might not have presented much of a challenge, what Fling did against Georgetown is worth serious mention. The tailback added to his impressive season with a six-touchdown performance against the Bulldogs. His 21-carry evening also included 268 rushing yards, yet another eye-opening showing for the Dillon junior as the Wildcats start prepping for the postseason.
Rocco Wojcik Rocco Wojcik 5'11" | 165 lbs | QB Socastee | 2024 State SC QB, Socastee
Two weeks after the Braves’ senior spurred a comeback in a playoff-clinching win over Conway, Wojcik looked like an all-everything quarterback against Wando. In the 47-7 victory, he threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns on 11-of-17 passing. On the ground, he was even better. With 14 carries, Wojcik piled up 146 yards and three more scores, including a 73-yard scamper in the second quarter. Socastee coach Ben Hampton said it was a top-three performance in his four-year starter’s career.
Chris Livingston RB, Carolina Forest
Talk about making the most of your opportunity. Livingston, a back-up linebacker for the Panthers, has been the team’s short-yardage back most of the season, even scoring four touchdowns in a three-game span in September and early October. With starter Kalil Johnson Kalil Johnson 5'7" | 160 lbs | RB Carolina Forest | 2024 State SC out sick Friday in a game that ultimately didn’t affect Carolina Forest’s region standing, Livingston piled up 217 yards and a score in the win over St. James.
Rashod Purcha, Jordan Vancise Jordan Vancise 5'10" | 200 lbs | LB Loris | 2024 State SC and Tray Knox, RBs, Loris
The trio of Lions two-way players each took turns punishing Aynor on Friday in a game that clinched a No. 2 playoff seed for Loris. After Vancise got things cranking and ran for 92 yards and three touchdowns (all in the first half), Purcha added 109 yards and a touchdown and Knox (pictured) – who has been used sparingly while he recovered from a minor foot injury – used his four carries to rush for 90 yards and three touchdowns.
John Simmons John Simmons 6'3" | 200 lbs | WR Myrtle Beach | 2025 State SC WR, Myrtle Beach
How’s this for effectiveness rate? Heading into the playoffs, Simmons has 12 receptions this year, the second straight where the Seahawks have had to lean into their running game amid quarterback rotations and injuries and scheme. It’s certainly lower than what he (or the pass-happy staff) would have liked. But after three more touchdowns Friday against North Myrtle Beach, seven of those 12 catches have gone for touchdowns.
