Some of these prospects, even despite some of their undeveloped frames, have undeniable athletic ability and talent that makes it impossible not to get them reps at any level. This includes JV, and Varsity. Typically, this is a way to slowly prepare them for full time roles in their offenses for the years to come. While it may be a bit easier for some of these skilled players to get reps, especially at the WR position, we can almost guarantee that there are a ton prospects in Georgia’s 2024 class that you’ve never heard of. Below, we have listed a few.
Nikhai Daniel- Locust Grove
While Daniel got a majority of his reps during his freshman year on the JV level, there were still plenty of flashes of talent that he displayed. Not only does he have the versatility to play multiple positions if his number is called, but he also has the burst and quickness that you want out of a WR that can get loose after the catch and pick up good yards. His ability to stop and go, and change direction on the dime makes him hard to catch, and can also be seen as something that makes him a bit slippery as defenders attempt to bring him to the ground. While lining up, Daniel does show that he is a bit raw in his route running ability, and that he takes false steps at times as well. Despite this, these things are coachable and it does not change the fact that he displays quickness in his routes, and the ability to get open for receptions. Daniel also shows that he can catch the ball with clean hands, and that he can even do so with a variety of catches. Look for him to continue to be a playmaker for Locust Grove as the years go by.
Amir Robinson- BEST Academy
Robinson, who also plays RB as well at times, has a great burst and straight line speed that results in big gains for his offense. This certainly translates well when he lines up as a WR, as he is able to then catch the ball and pick up plenty of yards after the catch. Robinson shows that he has great balance, and can escape half-hearted tackles, and turn small plays into 6 points. With the ball in his hands, he keeps his legs churning, and allows his stride to help him pick up plenty of yards. With this, Robinson is an okay route runner, but will need some work on his footwork. As he will soon move into his sophomore year, look for his team to continue to use him all over the field, and for him to be a key part in his team’s success. For Robinson, the sky’s the limit.
John Cineas- Hapeville Charter
Out of this entire list, Cineas is perhaps the best route runner of the group. He not only shows quickness off of the line, but shows to be clean out of his breaks. He uns deep and intermediate routes well, but above all, he is very effective with his short routes in which he is able to gain separation, sit in a cushion, catch the ball, and get upfield. His sudden quickness and burst is what makes his playmaking ability hard to stop, and this will ultimately make him a great player as he gains more experience. With this, Cineas also shows that he can catch the ball cleanly, and with strong hands, which is great foreshadowing for the future in which his QB may trust him in various in game situations.
KJ Bolden- Buford
One of the things that leaps off of the screen right away when watching tape on Bolden is his explosive ability, and burst. This can largely be seen due to his ability to turn small plays into huge gains. Not only does he get up the field very quickly, but he is able to create separation almost immediately. While he could be a bit more polished in his shorter routes, we like his route running ability with deep routes, as well as intermediate routes. Bolden also has big play ability with the ball in his hands and has a knack for getting into the end zone. He has good hands, and vision of the field, which is evident as he is not only great as a WR, but as a returner as well. Look for him to continue to get a ton of attention from programs as the years go by.
