He moved from Midwest City to Mount St. Mary and ended up breaking several passing records as the Rockets had one of their better seasons in recent memory. Now, if you’ve been following our offseason content, you know that we’re high on the Rockets as they head into the 2026 season. Manella is a big reason behind that. He’s the captain of an offense that could be one of the better units in Class 3A this season. There is a lot to like about his game and he has plenty of weapons around him that he probably will break his own records he set last year. We’re looking forward to seeing Manella in person in the spring and seeing how his game has continued to evolve since the end of last season because he’s definitely a QB that can get the job done.

He’s also rewritten the record book at Mount St. Mary in his first season as their QB1 this fall. Manella moved over from Midwest City this offseason and he has helped guide the Rockets to one of their best seasons in recent memory. Now, the job isn’t finished as the Rockets look to make a run in the playoffs but the future is very bright for a team that doesn’t have very many starters. We caught Manella back in the spring and then we saw him again this fall and it looks like he’s made a huge jump. The ceiling for him is still high as an overall QB.

Manella brings a style where he can carve defenses up with his arm but he can do it from a variety of positions. He can sit back in the pocket and make plays but he almost excels when he’s on the run and moving around. The accuracy isn’t impacted and that’s one of the more impressive traits that he brings to the table. Manella is a player that we think will provide an instant impact to the Mount St. Mary offense this year and produce at a very high level in his first season with the Rockets.

When it comes to the Midwest City offense, all eyes might be on that rushing attack and rightfully so. And as we mentioned earlier in the preview, Manella is a player that is talented and has a high ceiling. But he just hasn’t had the opportunity to show what he can do on a Friday night. Now, he gets that chance and we’re looking forward to seeing it. We got a chance to watch him a little bit during the spring at the Bixby team camp. He’s a confident quarterback who throws a good ball. It wouldn’t surprise us at all if he ends up having that breakout season.
