showed that he truly is one of New Jersey’s elite tight ends – and he did not have to go to a post-grad or private school to show it. A master of exploiting his size, Wingfield uses his length to create separation and high point the ball. In a related fashion, we see him use his body as a weapon to bowl over defenders. Not lost in Wingfield’s athletic ability is his agility and balance. We see him tightrope both the sideline and endzone, while making a move or two to shake-and-bake defenders in coverage. Wingfield seems to gain more speed the deeper his route is ran.I do not recall him using his body to receive the ball, exclusively using his hands and maximizing his catch radius

showcased his versatility in Northern Valley Old Tappan’s matchup against Ramapo. Standing at 6’4” and 220 pounds, Wingfield impacted every game phase. Primarily known as a tight end and defensive end, he caught passes, punted, and even chipped in by kicking extra points. On defense, Wingfield delivered with a tackle for loss and a sack, proving his strength on both sides of the ball. Committed to Wake Forest, Charlie’s performance solidified his status as a top prospect, demonstrating the ability to fill multiple roles and excel in a single game.

is probably more of a modern-day tight end. Used often in Y-out sets, Wingfield is a mismatch that favors the offense. Due to his size and length, he creates natural separation from his defender. Additionally, he uses that same size to deny a defender his path to the ball, as well as his length to high point the ball. Additionally, he has a tremendous catch radius. Wingfield also uses that same physical prowess when possessing the ball, often lowering his shoulder to gain yardage and when blocking. Somewhat of an acrobat, we see that he has the grace to tight rope the end zone and get his feet down. His routes are solid, but where Wingfield shines is when he looks to set up lesser opponents with a move, leaving them exposed in space. As the route grows longer, Wingfield finds himself separating moire and more. Defensively we see Wingfield do a great job tomahawking the ball as he rounds the edge and also serve as an exceptional wrapping tackler. As he prepares for the Demon Deacons, I want to see Wingfield take the fight to blockers more than last year. Often I would see him accept the figurative fight rather than take it to his opponent.

With his athletic build and versatility, he can line up both in the slot and as an in-line tight end.One of Wingfield’s standout traits is his exceptional hands. He possesses soft, natural hands and can make catches in traffic, showing concentration and the ability to come down with contested catches. He excels in the scramble drill, showcasing a knack for getting open when the quarterback extends the play.Wingfield is also dangerous after the catch, capable of making plays and gaining extra yards with his athleticism and agility. He has emerged as an ascending prospect, receiving over 15 offers and committing to the University of Wake Forest. In terms of his role, Wingfield can serve as a big-bodied receiver, creating mismatches in the passing game, while also being a solid blocker when needed. His ability to contribute both as a receiver and a blocker makes him a valuable asset for any offense, and I’m eager to see how he progresses in his senior year.

is an interesting prospect and certainly a prospect that has come on – in terms of offers – lately. Wingfield’s first offer came in mid-October when UPenn offered the aspiring prospect. From there, more and more schools have show interest to the point they want a commitment. Boston College, Syracuse, and Army have all followed suit in pursuit of Wingfield.
