Alex Pitts-Linebacker-Drew Central-5'11” 179-Pounds-2028

The Drew Central linebacker continued his impressive season last week against Fordyce. Pitts was all over the field defending against the Redbugs. He racked up 13 total tackles, had an interception, and scored a touchdown. Pitts does a great job of reading the play. He sheds blocks quickly and gets sideline to sideline in pursuit of the ball carrier. Pitts is a player to watch as the playoffs approach.

[player_tooltip player_id='1996333' first='Huck' last='Waddell']-Edge/Defensive Line-Lonoke-6'4” 200-Pounds-2029

[player_tooltip player_id='1996333' first='Huck' last='Waddell'] is having a breakout season for Lonoke along the defensive line. He consistently sheds blocks and disrupts the offensive backfield. Waddell can pressure the opposing quarterback or help shut down the opponent's rushing attack. On Friday, he had six tackles, 3.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles on the night. He is a player to watch out for over the next few seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1308037' first='Luke' last='Barnett']-Linebacker-Rivercrest-6'0” 170-Pounds-2028

The linebacker position in the class of 2028 is deep in terms of talent. [player_tooltip player_id='1308037' first='Luke' last='Barnett'] has caught our eye over the past few years with his solid play and impressive camp performances. On Friday night, Barnett was all over the place for the Colts. Barnett had 10 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one fumble recovery. He is a player to watch as conference play starts to heat up the next few weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2122078' first='Jesyn' last='Russell']-Tight End/Edge-Newport-6'5” 204-Pounds-2027

[player_tooltip player_id='2122078' first='Jesyn' last='Russell'] is another versatile prospect who can play and excel on both sides of the football for Newport. He is a matchup problem coming off of the edge on the defensive side of the ball. Russell uses his quickness well to shed blocks and get to the quarterback. On Friday night against Quitman he had eight tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and three quarterback hurries on the night.

Ross Mounts-Linebacker/Running Back-Central Arkansas Christian-5'11” 205-Pounds-2027

Ross Mounts is a problem for opposing teams to contend with on both sides of the ball. On the defensive side of the ball, Mounts reads the play well and gets to the opposing ball carrier. In the win over Clinton, he had eight tackles, three tackles for loss, and one sack on the night. Mounts is a player to watch out for as the season starts to wind down.
