We continue our Uncommitted 2027 series in Nebraska as this time, we look at the defensive backs that to me are surely worth a senior eval. Some of these prospects grade higher than the offers they have, some are starting to get that senior-eval attention, and this list also features one of the most explosive return men in the Cornhusker State.

The best available defensive back in the 2027 class in Nebraska is [player_tooltip player_id='2203486' first='Daniel' last='Young'] out of Scotsbluff. He holds three offers from the summer and is a top-tier track athlete that runs an 11.01 100-meter dash and a 23'9 long jump which is a Scottsbluff school record. Daniel as a safety has instinctive vision and has the long range you might expect with his 6'3 185 pound frame. The athleticism has surely peaked on both sides of the ball as a ball carrier and in the receiving game as in Week 6 he had four receptions for 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns. A lot of position flexibility either as a wide receiver or safety at the next-level. Most of the time I don't say a prospect is under the radar with offers, but Daniel is one that is flying under the radar in the Nebraska Panhandle.

If you want another 2027 safety this time that shows his strength getting off blocks and can use sound pursuit angles in the run game in the backfield. He's already had one senior eval lead to an offer in the first week of September and my gut tells me more attention could be coming the more he's put out on tape as I like what I have seen from a development perspective when it comes to his pass coverage, as his long strides can get sideline to sideline to go make a tackle out in space. The two-way athleticism that Noah has also shows off a fluid route-runner that can be an asset in the redzone as a tight end. I feel Noah grades out higher than his offers show and should be a good D2 fit.

Another 2027 defensive back out of Class A powerhouse Millard South that has gotten the attention offers wise, but oddly hasn't logged an offer thus far in his senior season. Aidan is a downhill safety that is explosive getting down to the ball carrier as the 6'0 190 pounder can really travel long with his range. Another skillset that comes up evaluating Aidan is his tackling ability, as he's unphased by runners change of direction and has great pursuit angles. It's no secret that Millard South has one of the most loaded rosters in Nebraska, however Aidan is one that is surely worth a D2 look as a safety that is also a big time weapon on special teams.

One 2027 defensive back out of this grouping that has started to pick up steam with a senior offer coming in from Chadron State just under two weeks ago is Sidney's [player_tooltip player_id='1868620' first='Kyle' last='Jaggers']. Kyle has shown off efficent footwork that balance well with his ball-tracking ability as one that can get off out of his track and use his instincts to make a play on the ball in pass coverage. His efficency over the middle of the field as his ability to utilze his instinctive change of direction creates very tight windows to the throw the ball into for QBs. Kyle is one of my favorite tacklers that is still available out of this 2027 defensive back group and is picking up steam at the right time for the 6-0 Red Raiders.

One of the biggest steam-rollers in this 2027 defensive back class that has logged two offers since early September is Bennington's [player_tooltip player_id='1700292' first='Baylor' last='Uhing']. One of the most sizable cornerbacks still available in this class at 6'3 180 pounds, Baylor shows off physical pass coverage that doen't create hardly any space between him and the wide receiver as he knows how to utilize that size to his advantage especially against smaller WRs. Baylor is also one of very few frequent press-corners still available and I am surprised his offer sheet at the Division 2 is not bigger.

It's been known across Nebraska that Tyrin is one of the top kickoff returners in the state, but you have to point at the growth he's made in his senior season in the Lincoln Northeast secondary. The 5'11 185 pounder has springy athleticism that gravitates down the ball carrier especially around the edges of the open field as he's a very physical tackler on contact. He's one that knows how to play with great timing upon the ball getting deep into the second level of play. He had three offers in one month alone over the summer come in, but weidrly enough it's been quiet on Tryin's recruiting trail since then.
