We continued our trail in the 2028 class with prospects that we feel have booming stock across the Cornhusker State that are ones that are undervalued from a rankings perspective, but surely not for long as we were wrapped into their evals from thus far this season.

A 2028 athlete that I feel is under the radar that has developed nicely in the 2026 season is Norris running back Jacob Kranau. You do not have to wait long to see how elusive of a runner this young man is between the tackles as his hip mobility surely passes the eye test. The now 5'10 190 pounder is durable thru contact and you can gauge that he's taken a step forward with his vision with his ability to improvise ahead of the defender, as one that is one of the more instinctive ball carriers in this class. Jacob is one that has great suddenness once the ball reaches his hands and is surely a 2028 running back that should move inside the top 70 in my eyes.

Another one that sits just inside our top 85 in the 2028 Nebraska class that has grown on me is Platteview's Christopher George. He's listed as a defensive back, however I really like what I see from him thus far this season as a wide receiver. What sticks out right away is his ball tracking ability, as his ball vision and great hands are hard to miss from an evaluation standpoint as one that doesn't need much space to operate in high traffic areas. He had a big game against Nebraska City last week and showed off the consistency that is there with his athleticism as the now 6'1 180 pounder is a wide receiver that surely should be rising in this 2028 class.

A 2028 wide receiver that has huge growing value in this 2028 Nebraska class is Grretna East's Sawyer Thompson, as I feel this young man was slept on big time via rankings based on what he's put together in his junior season thus far. Sawyer is not only a fluid route runner from top to bottom on his routes, but his ability to come back to the ball with his tracking ability really shows you how well this young man can improvise on his routes. He has an elite get off on the top of his route which sets the tone with his change of directon he has to create early seperation on his crossing routes. He's not afraid to the do the dirty work as a run-blocker either, which is a hidden trait that you don't see many wide receivers put on film as a lot more should like Sawyer across the Midwest. I have moving up at a minimum at the moment 3+ spots within this 2028 wide receiver group.

I got to watch quite a bit of Chase when I watched his game against Harrisburg (SD) last week in the Omaha/Sioux Falls battle last week and really liked what I saw with his reps at safety. This kid has massive sideline to sideline range for his 5'11 170 pound size as one that fly to the football from the other side of the field. He also showed off great ball instincts in pass coverage as one that has excellent positioning over the middle of the field for the football. He was a pain in the rear from a pass breakups perspective last week as a DB prospect that you can tell is in the film room as he was just about spot on as a key component to Omaha North's 27-7 win in Harrisburg last week. Surely one that will be above our top 100 that surely can play on Saturdays.

Kash is a name that I wrote about ahead of the 2026 season as a prospect I expected to standout for Gothenburg this season, and he has lived up that early hype for the Swedes. He's efficent as a route-runner that can find the sweet spot on crossing routes between the secondary especially with what he shows off against Chase County a couple weeks back in their 48-0 win. Defensively, you can gauge the instincts Kash has as one that can get into the backfield very quickly to create tackles for a loss as one that might even be more explosive on the defensive side of the ball. He is a newcomer to our 2028 rankings that surely has shown what he can do as an athlete in this 2028 class.
