2028 Prospects to Watch: Week Eight Edition

Hudson's Picks to Click, week eight edition part two. I am highlighting the top ten players to watch heading into Thursday and Friday nights for the rest of the 2026 Tennessee high school football season.

Dylan's size and length are perfect; you can't teach size, and he's got it. He is quick off the edge and gets off blocks with ease. Another positive aspect of his game is his swipe moves; he has solid hand power and moves the tackle with power. Dylan's overall pass rushing tool set may need some improvement however his swipe move is good. I would like to see him gain some more weight over the next year to fill out his build.

As a sophomore, Nathan recorded 254 carries, 1,262 yards, and 15 touchdowns. To add to those impressive stats, he was named to the 1st team all-region 1-5A, 1st team all-county, and All-5Star Preps. He is a playmaker for the Sevier Co. offense, shifty, quick, and has solid strength for someone his age. Possesses solid vision for knowing where to hit the hole and gain yards with his athletic ability. To add on, he has value as a pass blocker, which colleges will value.

Here are some quick measurements for Tripp during his Junior season: he stands 6'4, weighs 250 pounds, has 11-inch hands, a 77-inch wingspan, a top speed of 19 mph, and a 28-inch vertical jump. Tripp has good power; this goes for his hands and overall power in his game. Another plus of his game is quickness off the line. There is a lot he needs improvement on; however, he has a good amount of upside.

Karontae' Is a three-star receiver out of Chattanooga; he holds very impressive offers that include Vanderbilt, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Colorado, Nebraska, and Wake Forest. What stands out most is his speed; he ran a 4.28-second 40-yard dash as a junior in high school, which may make him the fastest junior in the country. To add on, his ball tracking is great, and he is a verified serious threat for Tyner Academy; his route tree needs improvement; however, that is teachable.

Eli has great size as a junior center; he is strong, has great drive, and effort. To add on, he works up to the second level well and creates holes for his team's running back. To conclude, he does all the little things right at center and will be seeing plenty of D1 offers over the next year.

Matchups

Father Ryan plays at home against Montgomery Bell Academy (GOTW) - I will be in attendance.

Sevier County lost to Grace Christian Academy on Thursday night 48-50.

Seymour travels to Northview Academy.

Tyner Academy plays at home versus Nashville Christian.

Ensworth plays at home against Christ Presbyterian Academy.
