Week 2 Outlook: Which NCS Offensive Stars Are Emerging?

With week 2 in the books across the Bay Area, a new group of offensive playmakers are starting to make their move up the charts. Here's a look at the top risers heading into Week 3 and some prospects poised to build on their early-season success.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    Hamilton is hands down one of the best receivers in the Bay Area and should have a breakout season for California and this explosive offense. Hamilton is a twitchy route runner that can create seperation and get open downfield, breaks well to the ball and has strong hands in traffic and good tracking abilities over the top and when going up to get 50/50 balls. He has YAC abilities and good third level speed in the open field while a very high IQ route runner with the twitch, change of direction and soft/consistent hands needed and is another prospect that should see his recruiting rise here soon. In week 2 he went for 108 yards on only two receptions with 2 touchdowns and is a hidden gem in this 2028 Norcal receiver class.     Dawes has really come on strong in his Senior season for the Wolves and is one of the top signal callers across the region this fall and is going to be a nice steal for a next level team. He is a high IQ passer, gets the ball out quick inside and outside the hashes and shows he can buy time with his legs and throw across his body on the run and has sneaky athletic abilities in and out of the pocket. He throws a tight spiral, has a quick release and can fit the ball into tight windows with touch and zip on the ball, throwing his receivers open and leading away defenders. He should be one of then top passers across the NCS by years end and was a precise 6/6 for just over 100 yards and 2 touchdowns in a blowout win on Friday night.     Kovacs made the transfer over from Amador Valley this off-season and is a big time get for California and his transfer has already paid dividends for them in the first two weeks. He is a big framed pocket passer that stands tall in the pocket, has a live arm downfield and is a high IQ passer that moves through his progressions and leads his receivers open on in-breaking and outbreaking routes. He passes the eye test and is one of the top signal callers across the bay area and should start drawing some college attention after his Junior season comes to a close and be a key name to note amongst NCS prospects. Kovacs passed for 231 yards and 5 touchdowns last week and is one of the passing leaders across the section and should have a monster season over the next few months.     Ward has been off to a great start to his senior season and is going to be a big time steal at the D3+ level in college. Ward is a very high IQ player that can move through his progressions quickly, makes the right decisions and drives the ball downfield with good zip and spin into tight windows and throws his receivers open downfield. He shows he can throw on the run across his body, work from various arm angles and and is a true pocket passer that can take off and run when need be. He had a excellent second week for Redwood and threw for 229and 2 touchdowns on the afternoon.
