#4 Central Catholic @ #1 West Linn -18.5 (West Linn 42 Central Catholic 19)

CC has an elite line but is young on the perimeter. If West Linn stays healthy, they win the state title.

#2 Tualatin -38 @ #9 Sherwood (Tualatin 53 Sherwood 14)

Tualatin started slow last week in their 39-point win. I don't see that happening twice.

Casteel (AZ) @ #3 Lake Oswego -14.5 (Lake O 37 Casteel 26)

Two of Oregon's all-time great coaches go head-to-head, with Joe Bushman now leading Casteel HS in Arizona to the "Open" state title in his first season. Similar to our consolation bracket OR "Columbia Cup". Casteel lost last week 35-34 to a solid Red Mountain (AZ) team. I think they will give LO all they can handle.

#5 Jesuit @ #7 Nelson -2.5 (Nelson 35 Jesuit 27)

I think that game experience for Nelson last week makes a big difference here. As referenced [player_tooltip player_id='1242808' first='Braylon' last='Gaines'] showed up big at QB along with [player_tooltip player_id='937176' first='Malachi' last='Garlington'] and 2028 standout [player_tooltip player_id='2105973' first='Jalen' last='Crichton']. Jesuit has a new head coach for the first time in four decades and graduates a ton of talent.

#6 Grants Pass -11 @ #14 Westview (Grants Pass 40 Westview 28)

Even with record breaking QB [player_tooltip player_id='796694' first='Jordan' last='Rossetta'] going down, GP made a statement in the 49-48 comeback win over #7 Nelson last week. With that being said, Westview has some dudes, and they should compete in the opener and in the Metro League.

#8 Willamette -1 @ #4 Silverton (5A) (Willamette 22 Silverton 19)

Hands down the toughest game to call statewide. It could go either way. Neither team played well in week 1.

#12 Glencoe @ #10 Mountainside -4 (Mountainside 30 Glencoe 22)

Look for this to be one of the most competitive games in Oregon. Year in and year out Coach Ian Reynoso of Glencoe is one of the best in the NW. Expect this to be a battle of the RB's with Mountainside's Recce Ballew going for another 250 all-purpose and rising 2028 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1611484' first='Collin' last='Stortro'] potentially being the next 2000 yard back for the Crimson Tide.

#11 Oregon City -20.5 @ Clackamas (Oregon City 41 Clackamas 14)

OC blasted a decent South Medford program by 30 last week, and Clack could struggle this year with limited experience and all conference talent returning.

(5A) Caldera @ #13 Sprague -9.5 (Sprague 28 Caldera 13)

I like the Oly's to win the Valley conference this year with a smaller group but a bunch of talent on the roster. Caldera did well in week zero beating Beaverton 26-6, but not sure how much that means with the Beavers struggling as a program.

#1 Wilsonville -56 @ Milwaukie (Wilsonville 65 Milwaukie 6)

We talked about this game on the podcast. Starters will likely be done for Wilsonville after the first quarter. Halftime at the latest.

#2 Summit -3.5 @ Bishop Kelly (ID) (Summit 23 Bishop Kelly 21)

Bishop Kelly went (13-0) and won last years 5A state title in Idaho. They beat a solid Aquinas team out of Cali 20-13 last week. All things considered this looks like it should be a close contest.

#5 Sandy -28.5 @ Barlow (6A) (Sandy 39 Barlow 10)

I expect this to potentially be Sandy's best team ever. I could see them advancing to the state semis at the 5A level.

#6 West Albany @ #7 Thurston -1.5 (Thurston 20 West Albany 14)

The kids out of Albany play tough, smash mouth football, as they almost pulled off the biggest upset of week zero, losing 13-10 to state title contender Mountain View. This should be another close ball game with POY candidate [player_tooltip player_id='1257695' first='Emmit' last='Distefano'] expected to be the X factor for the Colts.

#8 Dallas -3 @ Central (4A) (Dallas 26 Central 24)

Central dropped down to 4A and wasted no time making a statement, beating #7 Tillamook 42-7 last week. This will be a much tougher game with [player_tooltip player_id='1878396' first='Aidan' last='Galusha'] being one of Oregon's best.

Hood River @ #9 Canby -21.5 (Canby 44 Hood River 17)

There is a lot of excitement in Canby right now as the Cougars look to be a top 10 program again. Hood River had a solid 8-2 season last year, but the competition was brutal.

Crater @ #11 Ridgeview -20 (Ridgeview 42 Crater 15)

The Ravens out of Central Oregon got a quality 35-21 win over #12 Lebanon last week. Expect at least a three-score difference here.

#12 Lebanon -5 @ #14 Aloha (Lebanon 28 Aloha 20)

A bunch of all conference talent returns for Aloha including conference lineman of the year [player_tooltip player_id='1358887' first='Scottland' last='Telesa']. Look for this to be the best season they've had in some time.
