Posts by NebrPrepRedZone

Class B produced some huge rushing performances in Week 1, led by a pair of players who approached the 200-yard mark and scored four touchdowns apiece. The top five also includes several two-way standouts, and Week 2 brings some intriguing matchups — including a head-to-head meeting between four of the five leading rushers.

1. [player_tooltip player_id='2241180' first='Baer' last='Blecha'] | Ralston | Jr. | RB/ILB | 6'0", 190

205 rushing yards | 31 carries | 6.61 YPC | 4 TD

Blecha set the early pace in Class B as a bell cow with 205 yards on 31 carries and 4 touchdowns. The 6-foot, 190-pound junior handled a heavy workload while also contributing on the defensive side of the football with 8 tackles, making his Week 1 performance even more impressive. Blecha also runs track and wrestles. Just a junior this kid has two years at the high school left before four at the next!

Week 2: Blecha will look to build on the only 200-yard rushing performance among Class B's Week 1 leaders and continue establishing himself as one of the classification's top two-way players. Ralston hosts Aurora to face the number 2 rusher through week 1 in Class B.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='1085898' first='Wyatt' last='Pollet'] | Aurora | Sr. | QB | 6'1", 180

199 rushing yards | 26 carries | 7.65 YPC | 4 TD | 2-for-2 passing, 24 yards

One of the more interesting performances came from a player listed at quarterback. Pollet rushed 26 times for 199 yards and 4 touchdowns, averaging 7.65 yards per carry. He also completed both of his passing attempts for 24 yards, giving Aurora production from the quarterback position primarily with his legs while still showing the ability to throw when called upon.

Week 2: After falling just one yard short of 200 in the opener, Pollet will look to equal or top that performance as Aurora moves into its second game vs. Ralston and Becha.

After rushing for 700+ yards as a junior this kid is off to a fast start as a senior. Quick, stout and sturdy! This kid is versatile. A true scat back who is shifty and can catch the ball out of the backfield. At 5'8, 175, still room and time to grow, but he plays big now.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/20322891/Wyatt-Worlie

3. [player_tooltip player_id='2374214' first='Wyatt' last='Worlie'] | Elkhorn | Sr. | RB/LB | 5'8" | 175

161 rushing yards | 17 carries | 9.47 YPC | 3 TD | 13 tackles

Worlie was outstanding on both sides of the football in Elkhorn's season-opening victory. He rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 carries, averaging nearly 9.5 yards per attempt. Defensively, he was just as active, recording 13 tackles (7 solo and 6 assists) and 50 KR yards in a true 3-way performance!

Week 2: This is one of the week's best matchups. 1-0 Elkhorn travels to 1-0 Blair, putting Worlie directly across from No. 5 Class B rusher [player_tooltip player_id='2139598' first='Landry' last='Larsen']. Two undefeated teams and two of the state's top-five Class B rushers will meet with a 2-0 start on the line.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='2170483' first='Mason' last='Schmer'] | Scottsbluff | Jr. | RB/DE | 5'10", 200

154 rushing yards | 15 carries | 10.27 YPC | 2 TD | long 70

Schmer made the most of his opportunities, rushing for 154 yards and two touchdowns on just 15 carries. His 10.27 yards per carry is the best average among the top five, highlighted by a 70-yard run. The 5-foot-10, 200-pound junior is another two-way player, lining up at both running back and defensive end and recorded a sack in week 1. He has been on some visits but remains uncommitted. Schmer is off to a fast start!

Week 2: 1-0 Scottsbluff travels to 0-1 Norris, creating an interesting matchup with quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1085202' first='Evan' last='Greenfield'], who was No. 3 among our Week 1 Class B passing leaders after producing 228 passing yards and 65 rushing yards. It gives the game a matchup between one of Class B's top opening-week rushers and one of its top dual-threat quarterbacks.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='2139598' first='Landry' last='Larsen'] | Blair | So. | RB/ATH | 5'11", 180

145 rushing yards | 16 carries | 9.06 YPC | 2 TD | long 54

Larsen needed only 16 carries to pile up 145 yards and two touchdowns, averaging better than nine yards per attempt and breaking a 54-yard run. His combination of production and explosiveness put him fifth among Class B rushers after the opening week. Larsen also chipped in 6 tackles on defense. Just a sophomore this kid has a bright future! get eyes on #7 now!

Week 2: Larsen won't have to look far to find another member of this list. 1-0 Blair hosts 1-0 Elkhorn and No. 3 rusher [player_tooltip player_id='2374214' first='Wyatt' last='Worlie'], making this the marquee head-to-head matchup among the Week 1 rushing leaders.

For more coverage, evaluation and information, follow: https://x.com/NebrPrepRedZone
