Class B Offensive Line Spotlight: Gretna

Gretna's offensive line has set the tone early this season. He plays with a good base, gets underneath defenders and generates movement rather than simply occupying a block. There is some natural power to his game, but I also like the way he stays involved through the play. He has a sturdy build, gets good initial contact and can generate movement when Gretna runs behind him. He also does a nice job continuing to work once engaged instead of treating the initial collision as the end of the block. What stands out is that he doesn't look like a 250-pound lineman who is limited to playing in a phone booth. He gets out of his stance well, moves his feet and is capable of staying engaged as the play develops. There is a solid physical foundation here, and his frame gives him some positional versatility at the next level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Have to include TE [player_tooltip player_id='1086174' first='Henry' last='Hildebrand'] who is called to block on the edge and up front at times.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This group has created room for the running game, converted important short-yardage situations and helped sustain drives.
