2029 Receivers Ahead of the Curve

The sophomore class hasn't yet defined its best positional group.   The receivers, though, are starting to stake their claim.   The Class of 2029 is jammed with receivers who are well on pace to surpass 500 yards through the air this fall. What's more, a large number of them aren't even their team's primary options.   It's boosting some of the credibility an already strong quarterback crop has, and the combination of the two is giving everyone a lot of pause on just how deep the receiver corps is statewide.   We can't predict the future, but we can tell you this position is way ahead of the curve.   Let us show you exactly how deep this group is.    BREAKING DOWN THE TOP FIVE    [player_tooltip player_id='1817438' first='Jae' last='White'] Westside   White's ability to making an intermediate route really sting is starting to really stand out. Despite plenty of attention coming his way, the Rams' sophomore is confounding defensive backs - often two of them at a time - and getting into a spot where the ball has next to no interference ending up in his hands. Six of his first 18 receptions this year went for touchdowns, and it feels like every short throw that comes his way is chased by a longer one that might put points on the board.   [player_tooltip player_id='2106772' first='Corey' last='Miller'] Dutch Fork   The Miller-White theoretical matchups are going to be extremely fun to watch over the next few years. Like White, Miller isn't yet considering WR1 for his respective program, and Dutch Fork's in-your-face style of play doesn't always present a ton of opportunities for multiple receivers to flash big numbers week after week. But in Miller, the Silver Foxes have an experienced dagger who is as much of a threat to take it to the house as he does move the chains.    [player_tooltip player_id='1816760' first='Zay' last='Moseley'] Greer   Moseley and the rest of the Yellow Jackets took it on the chin a hair in a lopsided Week 4 loss to Byrnes, but the good news the competition will be a little more level the rest of the way. And if the first three weeks of the season were a clue, it's that Moseley is the team's primary passing priority for the foreseeable future. He was averaging just shy of five receptions per game. Mosely's on pace for 630 receiving yards and that's without him stringing together back-to-back impressive performances yet.    [player_tooltip player_id='1724433' first='Kadyn' last='Stevenson'] Hillcrest   Like just about all the guys on this list, Stevenson is showing massive production improvement from his rookie season. In his case, he's gone from 20 receptions in 11 games last fall to 17 catches in his first four games so far this season. He snagged at least four receptions in three of those first four games, and while many of them weren't of the downfield variety, Stevenson having the ball in his hands is a plus for the Rams.   [player_tooltip player_id='1825491' first='Malachi' last='Debnam'] Greenville    Debnam is one of the biggest receivers in the class, and he's finding out quickly how to use that size in ways he even couldn't as a freshman at Easley. When he finds a gap in the coverage, he knows how to find his way there. Once that happens, his catch radius does the rest. Debnam knows how to gets his hands into position to haul in the pass before it gets to his body. From there, it's only a split second before he's ready to make his next move.    NEW TO THE RANKINGS   [player_tooltip player_id='2341379' first='Mark' last='Law'] Wilson    Law put up most of his yardage so far with a home run ball against Hartsville in the season opener. It's slowed down some since, but we're having a hard time not seeing Law and freshman quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='2341375' first='Na'Bryson' last='Elliot'] linking up time and time again over the next three seasons. Law has some serious burst off the line and the ability to get behind some corners. When that's not enough, his flow in his routes is an excellent fall-back plan.    [player_tooltip player_id='2370994' first='Taron' last='Scott'] North Myrtle Beach    Scott is part of a veritable boon in the passing game for the Chiefs. Consider this: In all of 2025, North Myrtle Beach's top receiver had 108 yards - again, for the entire season. This fall, three Chiefs have already surpassed that figure. That list includes Scott. His 11 catches for 153 yards and a score aren't even coming from the team's primary receiver, but his complementary role is expanding by the week.    [player_tooltip player_id='1817255' first='Leyton' last='Scott'] (pictured) and [player_tooltip player_id='2370968' first='Chase' last='Wimpey'] Easley   A year ago, as Easley was starting to air the ball out more, it was clear that it was more of a one-man receiving threat, with Matt Hillstock catching nearly as many passes as the rest of the roster put together. This time around, the Green Wave are on pace to add about 50% more passing yards this season, and Scott (14 receptions, 306 yards, three touchdowns) and Wimpey (19, 314, six) are doing a tag-team number on opposing defensive backs through just three games. Each of them have a 50-plus-yard reception under their belt already, and their catch-and-run mentality is softening up defenses, regardless of what the scoreboards have read so far.    [player_tooltip player_id='2370964' first='Jaxson' last='Roache'] Myrtle Beach    If star senior [player_tooltip player_id='1664545' first='JJ' last='Brown'] is holding down the outside and tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1580630' first='Billy' last='Miller'] is busting up the seam, then Roache is a perfect blend of both target areas for the Seahawks so far this year. Through Myrtle Beach's first four games, he was second on the team in receptions (16), yards (237) and touchdowns (two) - behind only Brown. His route running is going to force opponents to track him at all times for the next three seasons.     POSITIONED TO CLIMB THE RANKINGS   [player_tooltip player_id='1841873' first='Mah'Kai' last='Eaddy'] South Florence   Eaddy is quickly turning into a player who isn't getting a ton of targets, but he's showing he doesn't need the rhythm to make sure his wheels aren't stuck in the mud. Against Ashley Ridge, he caught four balls for 122 yards and a score while taking three jet sweeps for another 41 yards and a score. It was a solid indication of how the Bruins plan to use him the rest of the season, and the numbers will continue to climb.    [player_tooltip player_id='1938780' first='Caden' last='Hunter'] Mountain View Prep   MVP was thrown for a loop mid-summer when its starting quarterback transferred out of state and the offense was left scrambling a bit to keep the Stars' offense on track. We've seen some of that come across with some fumbling issues, not to mention an 0-3 start. But Hunter (13 receptions, 137 yards, one touchdown) is starting to get more looks behind MVP's top two receiving threats - [player_tooltip player_id='1809282' first='Savion' last='Booker'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1672912' first='Chase' last='Richards'] - and is on pace to put up a strong campaign.   [player_tooltip player_id='2205159' first='Victor' last='Kaczenski'] Lexington   Kaczenski started a pretty good run near the end of his freshman season, when he hauled in eight passes for 106 yards and a score. Well, he's continued that right into 2026. In the same number of games to start this fall, he's already eclipsed that production (17 receptions, 279 yards, three touchdowns) and is part of a refined and developed passing attack for the Wildcats. He catches a lot of short passes, but his YAC are doing some serious work.   [player_tooltip player_id='1592935' first='Scott' last='Young'] Fairfield Central    There is no way to accurately describe how much attention Griffins senior start [player_tooltip player_id='1816745' first='Ty'Quarius' last='Shannon'] is going to get in the latter half of the year. When that inevitably happens, Young's production could jump through the roof. He had nine receptions for 210 yards and a touchdown in his first four games, on top of all his defensive responsibilities, and those figures could look paltry soon enough, especially as Fairfield pushes him more and more downfield.
