Port Charlotte Can Make A Statement The Next Three Weeks

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After finishing the 2025 season with a district championship and an 11-3 record, Port Charlotte let the state of Florida know that they have arrived as a budding football power.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While they would watch their season come to an end with a 35-23 setback to eventual state runner up Orlando Jones, head coach <strong>Jordan Ingman</strong> and the Pirates felt that they had a team that would compete and lineup against anyone.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Besides that state semifinal loss, they had dropped close contests to power Venice (29-22) and an unbeaten Zephyrhills team (49-48) at the time.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As the 2026 season began, there was a feeling that this is a program that could make a major impact this season – and after a convincing win over Cape Coral (63-26) to start the season, the confidence was indeed high.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While that victory was huge, it's the next three weeks that will give this program an indication of how they stand – starting with state-rated Clearwater Central Catholic on the road.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After that huge clash, there are home games against 2A power Orlando The First Academy and an always athletic and talented Fort Myers Dunbar.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Pirates have plenty of prospects to showcase – especially with the return of key playmakers such as 2027 seniors <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2228670' first='Ozias' last='Dorsey']</strong> (DB), FSU commitment <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1158090' first='Logan' last='Flaherty'] </strong>(QB) and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2137667' first='Elias' last='Pearl'] </strong>(WR).
