Week 2 has almost arrived. With that, Prep Redzone will have boots on the ground in Georgetown on Friday night to take in the cross-town rivalry matchup between Scott County (1-0) and Great Crossing (0-1). The game will be played at Scott County and is set for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff. Here are some players to know on both sides:

Great Crossing

[player_tooltip player_id='2337067' first='Hudson' last='Rodgers'] is one of the most imposing offensive linemen in the entire Commonwealth, and he still has two more high school seasons to go. As a sophomore, he demonstrated his versatility along the offensive line by playing both guard and tackle. Rodgers can pull as a guard and rival the explosiveness of opposing defensive ends as a tackle. He can drive defenders back several yards in one-on-one matchups and also elevate to the second level to block a linebacker at the next level. Rodgers picked up two offers this offseason, one from EKU and a scholarship offer from Coastal Carolina. That list will definitely grow before he graduates in 2028.

[player_tooltip player_id='1651428' first='Brenton' last='Arms'] is a 6'3", 240-pound defensive lineman from Great Crossing who can play both along the edge and the interior of the DL. Arms' defensive coordinator, Russell Floyd, said he rose through the ranks of GC's depth chart throughout the season and even started at DL during the back half of his freshman year. This puts him in a great position to get a lot of experience early in his career. The more tape he puts out, the more exposure he's going to get. I would expect the offers to follow after that.

[player_tooltip player_id='2180764' first='Grant' last='Rock'] works closely with Walker Wood at QB Reign and has greatly improved his arm strength and accuracy as a result. Rock gets the ball out on a line over the middle and has an incredibly tight spiral that zips past defenders and accurately to his receivers. Rock took over as varsity starter as a sophomore and will lead them through the next two seasons. During his Week 1 matchup against George Rogers Clark, Rock appeared to be knocked out of the game late during the third quarter. It's unclear whether anything will linger into Week 2's rivalry matchup, but the Cardinals should prepare for him just the same. Rock has really high potential under center over the next two years.

Scott County

[player_tooltip player_id='1200641' first='Timmy' last='Emongo'] went off in Week 1 against Franklin County. The Ball State commit took 9 carries for 242 yards and 4 touchdowns. He added one reception for 53 yards and a touchdown to boot. He finished the game with 309 all-purpose yards, including punt return. Emongo is a speedy player who can play any position on offense. Emongo is off to a great start in 2026 after amassing 1,712 total yards of offense and 29 touchdowns last fall. He also plays defense and added three interceptions to his resume in 2025.

During Scott County's opening win over Franklin County, [player_tooltip player_id='1909841' first='Asher' last='Brewer'] was a devastating defensive presence. He finished with 16 total tackles to go along with two tackles for loss en route to the 55-24 blowout. Brewer is also someone who has produced 11 interceptions since the beginning of his sophomore year. Now off to a fast start as a senior, Brewer has the opportunity to rattle off a similar performance against the Cardinals' cross-town rivals on Friday. Despite his history as a ball-hawking DB, Brewer more than proved during Week 1 that he is a reliable, physical tackler as the last line of Scott County's defense.

Last season, [player_tooltip player_id='1701052' first='Charlie' last='Ellison'] became the first Scott County QB to throw for at least 20 passing touchdowns in a single season since 2013. During the Cardinals' opening win on Friday, Ellison only threw seven passes but completed six of them for 102 yards. He also added a rushing touchdown to his stats, which came on a quarterback sneak. With him taking over as starting QB so early in his career, it's clear that his coach and teammates trust him as the leader of the offense. On the field, Ellison doesn't get to pass much because the Cardinals run the Wing-T, but he sells fakes really well in play action and can take the top off the defense when they get too comfortable loading the box to stop the run.
