Five Under-the-Radar QBs Who Can Set the Tone in Kickoff Classic

The Kickoff Classic is an early chance for quarterbacks to set the tone, and this is a solid list of five offseason risers who have something to prove heading into the season. High School Football is back folks!

Garrett brings good size and a willingness to take shots down the field. He has shown solid arm talent and can make the type of throws that catch your attention during a camp and offseason settings. There are still areas where he can become more consistent, especially with his touch and overall placement, but the physical tools are there. The Kickoff Classic gives Garrett a good opportunity to put those traits on display against live competition. If he can put together a clean performance and stay consistent throughout the game, he could start building some early momentum heading into the season.

Vigne enters his senior season with plenty of experience already under his belt. He threw for nearly 2,000 yards last season with double digit touchdown numbers, giving him a strong foundation heading into 2026. He looked solid watching him spin it this spring and excited to see how he embraces the leadership side of the position. The biggest thing for Vigne will be continuing to show that he can operate efficiently when defenses start throwing different looks at him. The Kickoff Classic is a good setting for him to showcase his experience, leadership, and ability to keep an offense moving.

Himelright has quietly put together a strong offseason. He looks more mature physically and appears much more comfortable in his frame, which has translated to the way he's playing the position. He has been trusting his arm more, making throws with confidence, and showing less hesitation when opportunities open up downfield. What stood out was how his consistency improved as the offseason progressed. Now heading into his senior season, Himelright has a chance to turn that progression into production. A strong Kickoff Classic could be another step in the right direction for a quarterback who has continued to improve.

Craft is an interesting name to watch since his move to Cocoa Beach. He has good size and some valuable experience, but now he'll have the opportunity to run the show. On film, Craft looks comfortable operating the RPO game, showing the ability to read defenders, manipulate the defense, and make plays with arm talent. His downfield passing ability is what really stands out, along with a smooth release that allows him to get the ball out quickly. Entering his junior season, this is a big opportunity for Craft to show he belongs in the conversation as a quarterback to watch.

Patterson has used the offseason to become more comfortable with the details. The natural lefty has the arm talent and smarts to make plays downfield with good control and leadership shown throughout his offseason reps, which has been encouraging to see. The Kickoff Classic gives him another chance to put that progression on display and start the season with a strong performance.
